I've had various guitars/basses/stringed instruments for nigh on 30yrs now, but i've never come across a rosewood nut before ?? I've heard of a diamondwood nut, but only on top of the range kit, are you sure it's not some sort of cheap urea resin with a wood colour swirly dye in it ? I can't imagine a rosewood nut would work at all, and even if it did, it would be expensive to make. Then again, if it's German, then anythings possible.

Nice that you are such a sincere and honest person but a pity you only sell to the UK. Since I'm not such a sincere and honest person I'd likely buy it, fix up all the flaws you kindly listed and resell it for 4 times the price to some local yokel.

It's definitely rosewood, I just can't figure out why they did it. Someone else has contacted me to say they've got a rosewood nut on an eastern Gibson copy that is about 30 years old so there are two basses out there with rosewood nuts at least!
