Lagging When Spectating
Whenever i spectate someone, it starts lagging for some reason, and they tell me theyre not lagging at all. And when i drive normally, it doesnt lag at all.. Can someone tell me why, or how to fix this?
Forgive me if it's a stupid question, but are you sure that it's lag and not lower fps because lfs has to render more cars when you spectate?
Because spectating shouldn't demand more bandwidth than driving itself...
If I understood your question correctly, it means that you have "bad" internet connection. Of course your car is not lagging when you drive it, because that data don't come from the server. Does the other cars lag when you are driving?
Kinda, but I also noticed when I watch my replay's, I also lag there..

That's it then. You're not having internet connection lag, but are getting a low framerate.

You can see your fps on upper left corner of the screen (By default). What is the reading? If it is less than 15, there is the problem. Solution is to decrease graphics.
Yeah, my PC sucks.. It's sometimes less than 15 FPS.. I think the max is like 17-18.
So how do I make the FPS higher?
Lower your AA and AF, lower LOD maybe also, take shadow off etc...
I have no clue what those letters mean.. lol

AA stands for anti-aliasign, and AF means anisotropic filtering. These are techniques that soften the jagged edges (AA) and sharpen the textures in distance from the camera (AF). You can adjust these from your graphics card's driver preferences (most likely right click on your desktop -> properties -> settings -> advanced).

LOD stands for Level Of Detail, which you can adjust in LFS.

You might also want to choose smaller screen resolution from the "screen" menu in LFS options, since your performance is so poor. Or at least I'd find under 30 FPS completely unplayable and would compromise graphical details as much as needed to get a smoother gameplay.
Oh alright, thanks man.
