Doh !!!

Just use iTunes, set it up to download with whatever format you want then either sync to an iPod or go to 'my doc's, my music, iTunes library' and drag & drop to an mp3 player.

It's really hard to find something better, & it's free !!!!!

Make sure your online when you rip a CD and it'll even automaticly give you the album/track names.

It really is idiot proof !

I use it at work for sharing out cd's ( shared playlists from an apple server ) at a school, and even total IT retards can cope with it !!!!!!!!!!
I use CDBurner XP Pro
Quote from Racer X NZ :Doh !!!

Just use iTunes,

I don't trust iTunes. Plus it insists on installing all of Apple's other software, then nags you to keep them updated. I did say "no malware" in the thread title.
It's not malware, it's just plain annoying!

Just say no

And turn off auto update.

There is no malware, just irritating update requests that you can turn off.
I'll take iTunes in OSX anyday, in Windows it's sorta shit though.
