abusing language
I'm not filing a complaint or the likes, just telling what I experienced on CTRA1.
While waiting to be able to join ( my car was mysteriously suddenly send to repair alltho' nothing was wrong with it ) and I spend the time chatting small talk with a fellow driver. Talking about my two dogs, he asked which one of them I talked about, and I replied: the bastard
I got kicked and recieved a warning from Admins because I used abusing language towards another driver.
Gee - I don't know if I should laugh or cry. The latter mostly because I don't want to start a collection of warnings.

It's an auto kick. Because we cannot 'see' the context of how the language is used the system automatically kicks people and sends them an automated warning.

Don't worry too much, unless you start racking up a few a week
I made a movie that had the word "****" in the name and on the servers people told me they liked it and....kick.

Altho I agree the words on the black list should be only the really bad ones.
I once got the message that I had recived an admin message and the text wouldn't go away, even though I had read it!

If it hasn't already been fixed, that's on Becky's to-do list.

There's clearly some confusion. Our filter is NOT designed to catch every swearword. It's not even looking for swearing. It's actually looking for abusive language directed towards other players, and it's intended to encourage people to stop themselves before they enter into an abusive tirade at another driver.

We've been issuing quite a few warnings and cautions recently, to people who are deliberately avoiding the abuse filter. While people who get caught in the moment, and hurl abuse usually get kicked (and sometimes get kicked unfairly), these kicks do not register a warning. However, if someone has the time to think of a way around the filter, we consider the abuse to be pre-meditated. This, when caught, WILL result in infractions and people will likely lose licence points over it, most especially when the circumvention is in order to personally abuse another driver.
I recently got kicked for saying "I'm a sissy" because I braked in a normally flat-out turn so I apparently insulted myself. There were three admins on the server at that time and they were having a good laugh.
I would like to say something about it.

I recently got kick for the something like this.
First lap, first corn, KY National, I didnt hit anybody, but someone crashed on me real good, I flew right on the wall by someone and I didnt have the chance to see who it was. Automatically I typed "f*ck" and got kick. So I got back on the server and saw the admin msg. BUT, when I tried to connect yesterday on the CTRA Single Seater 1, I got a message saying: HOST REFUSED CONNECTION. So I didnt know what it was. I was trying to connect at the same time a friend of mine and we were using the same network/internet. So, I dont know why I get banned. Im a good driver, I dont crash, Im always avoiding hit someone because Im really afraid of what is just happening to me. Im not a crasher, I can asure you that.

I tried the CTRA website and all that I could see is that I have an INFRACTION (red block) on my detail page. I dont know why and what penallity Im supposed to do. If someone can see my case, Ill be very thankful.

Thanks in advance,

Yuri Goytacaz

This has nothing to do with the language/abuse-filter.

I'd call that "PWNED!"
Ok. I can asure you that I did NOT do it on purpose. It must be a missunderstanding. Some lagging should have this done. Its rarely the times I start racing before the light go green. And I really think its impossible to me or anyone take so many people at the same time from the start greed. I swear to everything that I didnt do it. Or, at least, I didnt know that happend. Im really confidente about myself and my attitudes. I just checked out the report and it doesnt have the replay, so I can SEE it with my own eyes. Im telling you. If I have done something like this on purpose, I was not here to ask what happened to me. I was thinking about the baddest thing I did was saying the f-word on server. Please, Im asking you to recheck my case. Im not like that, I really didnt do it, not on porpuse, it must be some lagging-bug that I flew of hitted by someone or whatever, but I didnt do it. I dont even know how its possible to do this on the starting race. Throtle before the green lights up and hit that much of cars.

And what mid-term ban means? I mean, how much time it is?

That is so true that Im here talking about and very not ashame. Because I know I didnt do it, it wasn't me.

Thanks anyway,

Yuri Goytacaz

PS: If someone has the replay of it, I really like to see it.
There can't be a replay about someone removing drivers from the grid as it doesn't happen during the actual race.
You pressed the little - beside the drivers name in the start up screen before you were on the track.

That's what this is about.

I think the guys response above means he does not understand the 'removing people from the grid' . . . . .he's reading it as he 'thinks' that hes been banned for hitting loads of people out of a race with a lag spike.....

You have been given a ban for removing people from the 'grid' screen BEFORE the race occured.
thank u all.

i really missunderstood.
and i didnt know that was against rules.
i just did it to start right away the race.
Quote from yurigoytacaz :i just did it to start right away the race.

Hehe... Just have a little patience, let everyone get setup and ready to race. It's called having respect for your fellow racers.
I got kicked twice by using bastard word :P

Once, I can understand, but twice? Doh!
Use barstud instead.
Sam, it's a common thing. HEck, for all the times I've gotten kicked for calling myself a postwhore...
It's a sad world where guys feel the need to swear because they lacked some education or, cannot express themselves with the correct word for their problem. Being kicked keeps the games respectful, long may it continue.
lol dustin that is funny when that happens, and march hare my dad always says bar-steward lol

but on topic remember iuts there and dont try to get around it like some do using fuk and fuc, and all will be sweatness and light

actually - if i remember correctly (old age and everytihng) normally someone only gets kicked AFTER they have typed and displayed the swear word anyway... so really all it does is kick the continuous swears or people who launch a verbal attack.

so it's not perfect, but it does it's job overall on the whole.

And - if it kicks Dustin too, then thats an added bonus
Quote from SamH :Once, I can understand, but twice? Doh!

Yea I know.. Both were (if I recall correctly) a bit of playing around: "You bastard :P" after a tight clean race.
