The force effects don't seem really that radical to me, by judging from the videos I think force dynamics might actually be better. The movements seemed really slow to actually give you feeling of the forces.
Looks like, to me, it would just jostle you around, where Force Dynamics actually allows a bit of gravitational force to simulate G-forces when racing.
Another thing, did that guy think the shoulder harness was there just for looks?
Videos like this of the 301 look far more impressive, although these devices will always appear much more realistic if used in an enclosed cockpit with no outside object or structures to spoil the effect.
um guys ... the point is that this system can move and tilt the platform rather than just tilting it which enables instant forces instead of slow buildup while tilting
That was kinda my point Obviously I'll make things a little clearer in future
Given the massive range of movement available on that device (I'm sure its USB powered ) I'm sure it could make movements like the force dynamics platform would.
obviously it was your point ... obvious to anybody who knows the basics of force simulation that is
well yes the thing certainly is superior when compared to a 301 ... but its also certainly a lot more expensive (not counting the higher ceiling youll need)
but if im not mistaken the fd site claims that they could build a platform with the same degrees of freedom and the 301 is sort of their "cheap" "mass"-market product
