Yellow Flag and The Safety Car
One of the most prominent features in stock car racing is the high amount of cautions and this is one of the features that is complained about the most. In real life, a single thread of metal can explode a tire and this will uncontrollably propel the car. In circuit racing, there are many features that slow down the car if something like this were to occur such as sand pits. In ovals, there's usually nothing between you and the concrete wall. Therefore, for safety reasons, oval series in real life needs to have an high amount of cautions.
I do realize that Live for Speed is a game. Therefore, we have the luxury of putting out fewer cautions. It will be in these conditions and these conditions only in which there will be a caution period:
1. There is a crash that involves three or more cars.
2. A car has flipped.
3. A car is rendered immobile on the track or has a hard time getting back to the pits.
4. A competition caution (this will be voted upon if it will be included in a race).
5. If there's a single car that is repeatedly having problems making his way around the track then that is also means for a caution (this will be a subjective decision made by the admins)
Rest assured no cautions will be thrown just because an admin feels like it.
Many people complain that having a few caution periods would be unpleasant. However, it will be unpleasant if you have a wrong attitude about it. Instead of thinking the caution period as a "waste of time" think of a caution period in terms of this:
1. It is a good opportunity for you to take a breath and reflect on your current race.
2. If you have made a mistake, it is a very good opportunity to overcome it.
3. Think of cautions as a way for more people to race with you and providing more competition.
4. Go and get fresh tires and fuel.
With the right attitude for each race, it wouldn't matter if there's a few cautions thrown or not. All that matters is your out look on the race so keep a good attitude and you'll have fun.
Forcing a caution for the benefit of yourself or your teammate will not be allowed
