The LFSCAR All Star Race (Race 6)
Ok, this race will go under special format to make up for visiting the Kyoto Oval again (although to me and a few other oval racers this isn't a problem).

Thank you PMD for the wonderful idea of adding an all star race. Now the race has to go under a special format so lets vote on a few formats I've come up:

Progressive Lap Knock-Out:
When the field starts to race every 3 laps the last scored guy is knocked out and has to pit leaving the rest of the field to keep on racing and this continues until we have one car on the track.

Heat Races:
Everyone would qualify and the odd numbered qualifiers would race in a heat while the even numbered qualifiers would race in their own separate heat. In the end we take 3 best finishers in each heat and have a 6 car dash.

That's all I can think of as of now. But if anyone has a better idea please post them.

Also, PMD said the prizes will be points instead of money (as in the real NASCAR all star race). Should it be a winner takes all? Or should the points just be limited to 1st 5 pts, 2nd 3 pts, 3rd 1 pts?

I have 2 in my mind that similar to yours but to me would be more enjoyable.

-Segment Knock-out: The race would be split up into 3 segment (pretty much 3 races). Considering races on the oval would be around 60 to 70 laps (around an hour) then splitting the race into 3 segment could be simple. First race could be 20 laps, last 1/3 is knocked out, while the rest of the field is inverted. Second race could be 25 to 30 laps and again the last 1/3 would be knocked out leaving 1/3 of the field left with no invert and a 10,15, or 20 lap dash to the finish. Points you can decide, just make sure you get points for each segment, and the podium from each segment gets clearly more points.

-Heats to Feature: Lets say 20 people qualified ready to race, odds one heat, evens the other. 10 people would be in each heat, and at the end of the heat, 5 would advance from each heat (and should get some type of small bonus points ex: 10,7,5,3,1). Those last 10 people could be in the feature, where you could get normal points for the finish (alittle more for podium finishers). BTW, I was thinking 10 to 15 lap heat races, and then a 25 lap feature.

These were basically my 2 ideas for this style event, of course both can be tweaked a bit.
Your heat to feature sounds a bit like mine standard heat...I'll have to think about these before voting LOL. But great ideas
Well ya it's basically the same, but I just added the part about giving a couple bonus points to the people that transferred in the heat races, oh and 10 people in feature instead of your 6.
Segment Knock-out is another variation of my progressive lap LOL. I do think that would be a better system though, so I'll vote for that
