This is just really to satisfy my own curiosity. Just wondering which is more popular among the LFS community.

Now I have a crappy old 9600XT, but I'm building a new PC in the summer. I'll put 8800 GT in it. I've never had Nvidia card, now I'll have one

I'm surprised ATI is winning. I have a 8600GTS in this computer (AMD X2 2.4Ghz) and a 6600GT in the old 1.8Ghz P4 for LFS.

I got a ATi 9550 256MB in this machine.

I just equalized it. 10/10

Mine aint very good but it runs games with a little tweaking (I meen like Bioshock n stuff)

no ATI for me, sold a lot of them, placed it in many PCs but never bought one myself
(I think started to not like them when I first had trouble with the drivers, many many years ago ).

Looking at the size of the companies, nVidia should win.

Intel GFX cards (if you can call them that) are fitted to over 50% of all PC's, so by volume they are (scarily) the "best" GFX card manufacturer.

Hrm...I have one of each.

8800M GTS in the laptop.

And a X1950XT 512MB in the desktop.

If I had the choice to buy a new graphics card right now, I would go nVidia. But since the ATi 4XXX series is coming out soon, I may have to wait as they are said to be mighty powerful.

I don't really like spending huge amounts of cash on top of the line graphic cards. Always gone for stuff that has given good performance for the price.
