Whaddya reckon - sell the Reynard, buy Super Aguri for a few quid, and attempt to show Torro Rosso how it's done?
Kev can be my race stratagist (because of the GPManagerPro calculator he made). Shotglass the race engineer. All LFSForum Mods can be mechanics. And RacerX can confuse/distract the opposition with his theories.
I'd need a second driver, so send your racing CVs to someone else.
hmmm is Super Aguri still active in the IndyCar Series??? If so, we might see them two in at the end of the month @ Indy xD... Bad Minardi only took part in the Long Beach Grand Prix, and not changed into the IRL. The Indy Car Series would have been starting to become the Series for failed F1 teams (Penkse, Super Aguri, Minardi...) (I know that Super Aguri and Penkse were in the American top-level single seater serieses before their F1 seasons)
I think the F1 should allow teams to buy their chassis and there engines. Not like in todays times, where they need to built their chassis on their own, and are allowed to buy the engine, like in IRL. That's much cheaper for teams who don't have the money.
Driver Championchip
Manufacteur Championchip (where the Chassis manufacteurs would be listened as well, such like Lola, Panoz, Dallara also McLaren-Mercedess)
forming a teamchampionchip where the teams are listened.
I think the preperation of the teams is some point givin the adventage on the one or the other side. Aditionally, it is only the basis of the car, wich can be develloped by the teams with new wings and such things.
What gets me about this whole "no customer car" business is that almost all the teams (with the noteable exception of Ferrari and mebbe 1 or 2 others) get a substantial quantity of their carbon fibre work done at Lola in Huntingdon, UK. Super Aguri dont even have carbon fibre manufacturing facilities they get the whole lot done there.
So in what way is it not a customer car, exactly? Yet the rule change has cost them a fortune in designing the second Honda to be slightly different...
This just highlights to need to reduce costs very soon, and to a level where independant teams can survive and compete. Customer cars would ruin the sport, they almost did the last time they were used. The FIA needs to find some kind of solution, buget caps would be the best solution, although it would be hard to police it wouldn't ruin the technical aspect of the sport.
Mustafur, Super Aguri came into the sport in a disorganised and rushed attempt to save Honda from losing the respect of its Japanese customers when they dropped Sato from the team. Yet without much help from Honda they managed to punch well above their wieght. Surely their performance proves that F1 is not the pinnacle of motorsport, but the pinnacle of marketing. If it were the pinnacle of motorsport then Super Aguri would still be racing and beating big budget teams, they wouldn't be priced out of the sport and left to die because Honda decided not to save them due to their performance being too good.
well from a business point of view Honda have done much more than they should.
Sato definitely does not worth the 60-100m debt.
with all the complete new rules next year and the new agreement of no customer cars Honda will need to at least double SA's budget to keep the team coming as i think Weigl probably dont have the ability to come out with such large sum of money. dont even think about paying Honda back.
indeed we need a budget cap asap.
im not a F1 specialist but i reckon FIA can easily increase the speed and reduce the cost easily.
but before that time comes i dont think any private teams can survive.
it just cost too much to keep the team running when you compare the budget of SA and the budget of Toyota/Honda/Ferrari.
I was wacthing The videos on Youtube of Sato passing Alonso and i found this one, it has an American, British(ITV), Spanish and Japanese version of commentry for the pass its quite funny : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNGuw7khT98
IRL is quite different. It's basicly spec-series, F1 is not (while seriously going to that way scarily fast ). And by the way the the current IndyCar car is amazingly pricey compared what you get... a chassis that belongs to the museum. Even the Champ Car Panoz DP01 would be much cheaper and look how much more modern it is.
I have really no idea where the money flow goes but how Ecclestone has anything to do with team budgets? If Mr Mummy robs something, then it's the GP organizers and tv channels.
this forum is turning me into a busier man than i ever wanted to be... not only do i have to spam like a pro to stay in the top 10 now i also have to do this comedy show thing with kev xaotik and spanky and run tristans f1 team
F1 needs customer cars to survive, end of. All that needs to be done is make those cars able to score WCC points for the constructor, not the team (although their would be a Teams Championship for Concorde money).
Don't want to blow my own trumpet or anything but I can also spell "strategist".
Well you'd have to run the test team at the very least. I think I'd be heading up the race team in my role as Unsporting Director. I'd like to propose Spanky as Chief Saboteur, and Hank in charge of our anti- Bear/Squid/Sniper task force.
lets drop the silliness for a moment and consider this seriously... what if they want more than an old f3 in exchange? would anybody besides me be willing to throw in a fiver?
also whos in charge of filming tristans nazi orgies?
