Invalid Hotlap Bug
The current hotlap WR with the FBM @ SO Sprint 2 by Homme is invalid, but LFS records the time regardless.

He hits the wall in the last corner of lap 1, and LFS says "Next-invalid". On lap 2 he sets his best time, but even though LFS says "Lap-invalid" the time is recorded. He also hits the wall at the end of lap 2 in the same point as lap 1, but this time the next lap is not invalidated.

Anyway, the bug with LFS not invalidating laps upon wall contact at South City is well known, the new (to my knowledge) bug here is that LFS does invalidate the lap, but still records the time anyway.

Edit: "Homme's hotlap was not valid and will soon be removed.
Please select another racer for comparison."

Maybe this bug is already known?

From Victor in the Instant Hotlap Analyser thread.

Quote :NOTE (1) - Some hotlaps will not load in the analyser. This is because they don't exist. Now that we have a background RAF exporter, we can also do actual HLVC (HotLap Validity Check) and OOS (Out Of Sync) checks. Since Scawen improved the wall detection for example, some hotlaps have become HLVC invalid and will soon be removed. The same thing goes for OOS checks. A hotlap going OOS is normally due to the use of cheats. This way we can make sure the hotlap charts will remain cheat free. More on this topic later when we will do the actual removing of the invalidated hotlaps.

I'm guessing you are also using the test patch therefore it will be an invalid lap in your version but not in Patch Y, hence why it was allowed in the first place.
Ah right, I wasn't aware that collision detection had been improved, that explains it .

Regarding the improvements, maybe the collision detection still isn't perfect. On lap 2 Homme made heavy contact with the wall on the last corner and the next lap was not invalidated, even with Y18.
