The online racing simulator
Possibly the Best LFS Platform in the WORLD
The problem with this thing is, if You can ever afford one, You could instead go and buy a Ferrari and do the real thing
Welllllll, not quite but yeah.

The base price for this thing is $20,000... which is actually pretty reasonable considering what you're getting. A computer that runs that setup is worth at LEAST 2-3 grand... and then the screens are worth quite a bit as well... and then the motion-simulating seat... not TOO bad of a price for what's included!

I am absolutely ready to sell everything I own for one of those...

The computer and the S2 license, too?
Have they built one or just spent their time making pretty renders of it...

<cough> I have the sole working prototype in my spare room <cough>

Back in the real world, why no G25 with it? The wheel mentioned only has 270 rotation and the H shifter is optional
If my partner wanted one of these I would do everything in my power to ensure she could have it.

*waits for approval to click buy now*

<long pause>

*sulks*

I'd buy a real car from the price of this sim, and go to a track and DIE
I don't like the idea that the seat moves relative to the steering wheel (assuming I'm seeing it correctly). Looks SWEET though
For that price, the optional progressive clutch and six-speed gated shifter should come standard.

Hell, for that price it should come with a hot 19-year old slave wench chained to it so she could clean and maintain it and service me orally while I drive.

it doesn't look as good as the force dynamics...

And you should get an updated model every year.
$20000
For that price I will build my own, actually in all honesty I plan on getting into racing within the next two years and my budget is about that... Hmm, make LFS more real, or get out and race for real ... Easy answer, and sorry to not choose LFS for once!

Video of the old version.

But I would take Force Dynamics. You can add worth of 50,000€ hi-def and hi-fi gimmick to the platform but it doesn't change the fact that Force Dynamics is way ahead of everything else what comes to how the motion rig itself works.
Yep the CXC cockpit is pretty cool.

I'm building my own sim right now and it's not cheap... I bought every piece individually and I just made the mistake of summing it all up $1800 ouch. What was I thinking... It's not as nice as CXC's, but it does share many of the same components.

Yeah, well I was reading the FAQ on the CXC site and they address teh question of having only the seat move. Apparently having everything move that much is nice, but the setup they have supposedly is the best for your money... and it gives a very realistic feel according to "racing drivers" whoever they may be.

largely because fd bother to design and build their own technology instead of just putting a whole bunch of off the shelf components together

well he is a race driver. but that is a rip off.
I think a robotic arm would make the best platform for a motion sim. You could get over 1 G in any direction.

Robotic arm ride on Youtube
^the reaction times and small movements not so great though.
Put the seats on hydraulics, then the whole she-bang on the arm. The hydraulics can deal with short and fast bumps and such, or perhaps as a transition before the arm gets moving.

Why not spend $20,000 on ten hookers, you get sh*t load more vibration, more sound effects and more buttons to fiddle with.

They cost $2000 each over there? Damn.
