The ultimate car?
From the quick cursory glance I gave it it looks like a Shelby Cobra rehash. But I could be wrong...

EDIT:
And yeah, I was wrong - the suspension alone is by far more complicated than the Cobra's. It actually looks like real suspension for starters.

Personally I don't really like it
its retarded.

Exibit a)
"Conceived - Designed - And built in the USA"
-- it will go really fast but wont turn at all.
Exibit b)
Highlits are:
--An automated Gas Cap.
--A super-precisely built gear LEVER
-- A high quality door hinge.

If I didnt know better, I'd say a high quality lever, an automated small porthole and a high quality hinge might fit my house, a truck, a piece of industrial equipment.... not a sportscar. What is the extra weight from a automated gas cap doing there?
What does it matter that the gear LEVER is built to a precision of 0,00001 of an inch?

All it talks about is the jewelry-grade buttons on the dash board, how hard are the push buttons (made of sapphire) etc.

I bet it'll cost 5million Dollars, have a 5 liter, 150hp engine, solid rear axle, leaf springs in the front axle, a turn angle for the wheels of about 10º, and burst into flames when you drive it for longer than 30 mins.
speaking of uneccessary weight: it even got two handbrake levers...

Honestly, if that is US engineering at its best, then I rather not see the worst.

Not according to the specs and the photos on that page.

Agreed though, the jukebox-like interior is quite off-putting.

I was wondering about that bit too, but I have a feeling the one on the right isn't a lever but a handle.
That is ugly :S

Quote from Stigpt :not a sportscar.

It says it's supposed to be a "luxury" car.

Quote from ColeusRattus :speaking of uneccessary weight

100% of its weight is unnecessary. No one is going to spend a cent on that car (or drive it an inch) out of necessity.
Reminds me a lot of this: http://www.supercars.net/cars/2740.html

While a crazy high power to weight does make it quick at the racetrack when a race driver is at the wheel, it does not make it a good drivers car. Give me something truly lightweight (say, half what that weighs), and a quarter of the power, and I'd be much more interested. Something Caterham-esque but without cloning the Seven styling.

I would have thought something like that would sell in far higher numbers (at least in Europe).
oh and it doesnt have the world record power to weight ratio thingy,

caterham 7 500 - 1000bhp/ton
ariel atom 500 - 987bhp/ton (i think)

Nahh, I think the ultimate car is probrably the Williams FW14, and yes, I'd certainly love to have one of those in LFS!
Quote from Luke.S :now lfs needs one of those what was the top speed 220? that car is awsome 220mph with no roof wow.

This car without a roof is even faster.

It's the Weineck 780cui with a 12782 cc V8. It does 0-300kmh in 10 seconds .
For me it's the Ascari A10. It's simple (as in, no electronic BS), it's brutal, it sounds like the world is coming to an end. It may not be the prettiest, but god damn it looks like the most fun.
I think it looks awful and has rather uncompromisingly styled exterior for a road car and not a terribly appealing prospect as a track car.

I've seen the tubs in the flesh and they really are beautifully built, would love to see a complete car someday
Quote from Mikkel Petersen :1 second, nah ..

With drag tyres on a drag strip coated with track bite (or whatever it is called), it is possible. NOT going to happen with road legal tyres on the street though.

Exactly my point.
Quote from anbiddulph :2200bhp, most powerfull road legal car.

How can something that powerful be road legal?

I mean when I saw monster truck which were 1600 bhp, even being something like 50 m away I had to block my ear cause the noise was painful.

If the guy goes full trottle in the street with such a car anybody nearby would be deaf!
Are you guys al crazy there is just one ultimate car that wee need in lfs

Na d thats a RWD comepettitor for the UF1000
