Quote from J@tko :Yes, I am a little bored, but I wanted to hear (pun? ) what radio station you listen to.

I've kinda grouped them into certain groups for the poll, but what specific stations do you listen to?

I usually listen to BBC Radio 2 (blame the mother), Hereward FM (local commercial station) or Heart FM (national[ish] commercial station)

As I'm a bit bored again, ill talk bout what these stations are to those who are outside of the UK.

Radio 2 is the most popular station in the UK, with about 6M listeners on average on a weekday. It plays sorta 'normal' music, and Terry Wogan's breakfast show is the most listened to show on Radio, with about 8-10M listeners (in your face Chris Moyles) However, this week Terry is on holiday (again) and so the brilliant Johnny Walker is taking his place

Hereward is my local radio station (for the Peterborough area). Its about the best commercial station ive ever listened to. If anyone can make the 'Listen now' feature on their homepage work, please tell me how

Heart FM is kinda typical of my music taste (to most of you - crap music) and is what i have on whilst revising or working most of the time.
I'm rarely listening to the radio... i have something called an Ipod...
I am not decrepid enough to listen to R2 yet

And local commercial stations do my head in with their inane adverts
_If_ I listen to the "radio", it's normally a stream from DI. Used to listen to Kiss a lot (was much better when it was a pirate station), but now, it's all R&B n other "music" of similar genre (read: kids who tink it all abou' da bling bling innit, y'geh'me).

Morning radio shows really piss me off, absolutely no content worth listening to at all.

Another bonus of DI streams over normal radio is that while it has ads, there are far fewer of them.

Regards,

Ian
Quote from dougie-lampkin :Chorley FM of course

Nah, we only have bad stations here...I listen to Spin SW, home of 10 spin hits in a row. As anyone in SW Ireland knows, they only have 10 songs. So it's always 10 spin hits in a row

The Colm&JimJim show on 2fm is great. I don't listen to radio much, but 2fm is what I would listen to
i listen ''the voice'' and my ipod
I agree with Ian about morning shows. Can't stand them. If I listen to the radio it's only in the car when I have no CDs with me, or my iPod. I guess the stations I listen to would be construed as Local Commercial. 92.5 Jack FM, 97.7 Hits FM are the only two stations I generally even bother thinking about, they have an okay selection of music sometimes. Edge 102.1 will occasionally play something that doesn't suck. Of course, any of that will only make sense to those of you near Toronto :P

Generally I just fire up my desktop PC and use it as a stereo; I've got almost all my CDs ripped to my external drive so I've got an okay library of music (little shy of 1500 songs.. nothing much).
Radio 5 live and Radio 4 for me.

When i want to listen to music i play my own
It varies.

On my way to and from work, it is WLS 890 AM.

At work, it is either 89.9 WONC or 90.9 WDCB.

At home, I listen to SomaFM, Secret Agent Channel.

I guess you can say I am not a top 40, commercial radio listener. Never have been.
