Wrong codepages in LFS Remore. Again, western codepage for everyone!
LFS remote flash shows all the titles in wrong codepage. For example, I see nicknames like

(\/) S.Mцckel
Tбз["] MццR

and so on. ц stands for u with double dot, I guess.
Who says those names are wrong? People use all sorts of characters in their names.
Just for the record:

I can only speak for the usual case here (and even only for biohazard), but he's using (\/) S.Möckel for ages now.

ц -> ö
ok I guess I was put off by detail's annoying tone. Will look into it. May take a while though.
sorry for the tone. Indeed, many use other characters in the names, but they're usually marked with ^C, ^G and so on.

Victor, if you want to make tests, I can send you screenshots.
thanks but it's ok. I need to debug it in my editor anyway, viewing live races. I already do the codepage conversion of course, but something seems funky when converting the different codepages to unicode (flash uses unicode internally), so i need to check the charcodes of racernames themselves inside flash and compare them with what i see in and get from LFS.
Quote from detail :sorry for the tone. Indeed, many use other characters in the names, but they're usually marked with ^C, ^G and so on.

i wonder if you could join the host 'Blackwood XFG XRG' (y18) for a test. I'm thinking your Flash doesn't convert the names properly. I'm trying to recreate the problem, but so far i can't. Thee jump joined in as well and tried a load of other names, but both of us saw the correct names in the remote. So atm i don't really know why you saw those other characters. Though it can't be coincidence that you see cyrillic characters, being a russian, so i wonder if your flash can find the proper codepages to convert the text with. But i can't say for sure. I doubt however that you don't have windows-1252 installed (duh).
We're still on the host if you read this tonight (am off for food though for a bit), so you could join for a test. Otherwise it'll have to be done at another time.
