I know most of you here scoff at ISI engined sims, but I do have a love of GTL aswell as LFS, I recently installed Hockenhiem circa 1999, and hotlapping round that in a Capri RS3100 to me is heaven
I made a small vid of a lap, not the best mind, but not bad, thought some may want to have a gander

Playing it and loving it, primarily since I'm old enough to have had most of the 70's cars as metal toys when I was a kid, and have always wanted a Mk 1 Escort, but never got closer than a Mark 2.

Most impressed by its sound, most unimpressed by trying to make skins for it and finding out that it's a) difficult thanks to the developer withdrawing all the files and b) when I do manage it they look like crap anyway...
I have been getting into GT Legends too. I was a bit hesitant about picking it up as I don't like the feel of the cars in GTR, SimBin's previous offering, and rFactor left me cold. GT Legends, though, is excellent. At first, I had difficulty moving back and forth between GTL and LFS as the driving feel of the two games is so different but now it only takes a few laps to readjust when I switch between them. I find that the differences actually enhance my appreciation of those aspects that each game does well. Thankfully, there's space on my hard drive for both of these excellent games.
Exactly, I have space on my HDD for all of them, each have their own good and bad aspects, I am just gratefull we are lucky enough to be able to have the choice.

I guess I'll have to head for the store soon and buy GTL. Didn't plan to do so, but when the LFS devs don't want to buy licenses for real cars and tracks I'll have to. Makes me nearly feel sorry for purchasing the LFS-license...

Vain
I will NEVER feel sorry for buying LFS license, LFS is one of, if not, the best online racing sim there is, but when a sim comes along that gives me the chance to race a 400bhp RS3100 Capri on a track like the 1999 Hockenhiem then that deserves a place on my HDD.

Dan,
I love GT Legends too. Yes I agree that with real tracks and real cars the game feels much much better. (Im not saying that LFS is bad but I really like GT Legends more for this period of time.
I couldnt seperate between them TBH, IMO they fill 2 seperate niches, I wouldnt be without either, I would rather have none than have to choose between them LOL.

Dan,
Too bad that GTL doesn't feel as good as it sounds and looks.
Why it doesnt feel good? The only thing I can think of is the multiplayer mode.
He means FF respectively connected-to-the-road feel.
I agree with you but it doesnt bother me since I never use FF.
Quote from Kajojek(PL) :I agree with you but it doesnt bother me since I never use FF.

That explains a lot.
Quote from deggis :That explains a lot.

Oh yes, indeed. FF is the main reason I cannot play any ISI sim because it feels so horrible to me.
Well, to me it feels on a par with LFS,but each to there own, I love GTL as much as LFS, regardless of the engine .

Is it just me or is it really the fastest way to go through at GTL-lap with full lock? I can't seem to find a difference between optimum wheel-turn and full lock with as much throttle as the car allows.
This is on hardest difficulty-level in the demo.

Not quite sure what you mean, but I find that I have to set the wheel lock in the setup to 30DEG, default is 15, also, if I full lock around the track I would end up understeering into the gravel traps.
One thing that might be a factor is the in car wheel isnt calibrated to your steering controller for some reason illepall

I noticed that however-far I turn the steering wheel the car will not reduce cornering. I get the scrubbing-wheel-sound and the FF-effect but the car is still going through the corner like I was driving properly. Actually I found that when I use this effect I can take the corner faster than with proper driving. Understeering has a FF- and sound-effect, but I can't seem to find an effect on driving physics.
Still no driving assists or the like.

I will try to get used to this some more today. But the "oversteer / understeer"-slider in the car's setup is really scaring me off. What physics-model allows for such a slider? illepall

Just ignore that slider, its only there for those that don't want to get their fingers dirty in the real setup screens.

From what I know playing the demo, that slider is total BS. It just moves the brake balance to the back the more you set it to oversteer. The normal corner behaviour doesn't seem to change, you just suddenly swap ends on braking when you set it to full oversteer.

even if all assist are turned off, there are actually some assist left, steering assist is actually on low when it says it's off.

go to your plr file and set steering assist to zero.

I personally feel the cars not actually connected to the track, it's kinda floating above it :S ? I tried the demo, felt a little let down...GT Legends...great idea! But... it just doesnt stand out...
