Formula Drift: Laughlin
Long time since I posted a layout. This one have been made since a long time (Mid-August 2007) but I reworked it a couple of weeks ago. Basically it's the Laughlin course that was used for the Pro-Am event. It's quite accurate from the reference I had.

Start line:

The corner that's judged:

Nice, i like simple layouts, but only one turn... xD. But i like it.
nice layout man
Well just look here and you will see I did it like it was in real life too. That's not a drift day track, it's a competition track.
It's a good effort, but its not very accurate at all.

I was at the laughlin Pro-Am and have seen the track in person.

I'll help you out a bit with what i can see wrong.
1. The first straight does not angle outwards. From the start its a 90 degree turn to the first straight.
2. Your sweeper pinches at the end, while in-fact it does pinch a bit, yours is a little too exagerated.
3. The chicane you have is too shallow. From where I was standing in the pits looking at the chicane straight on, the clips were all in direct line with eachother. Possibly overlapping a bit. your also missing a part of the judged section. Where the course ends, the cars are driving towards the starting grid, then make a sharp 90 degree turn back to the pits.

Try watching more clips of the pro-am. There are numerous clips from in-car cams around youtube.

Hope that helps. I'd really like to play this course once it's complete.
I tried finding more videos / pictures on Youtube and Google but I didn't get anything usefull. Is there a chance that you post pictures or informations about the track? Like width and other stuff. Then I can try and rework it.

This is the closest i could draw it from memory. The blue spots represet the clipping points. The one in the back of the sweeper wasnt there in real life, but i think it would be awesome to put in the layout for added fun. The red represents the barriers they had. The right side of the course (The first straight) was plastic water barriers, and all the other walls were concrete k-rails. The yellow represents the main part of the course in a nutshell. The green line is the road back to the pits and the purple line is the starting grid. I've been looking around for more pictures of the course but cant seem to find any from a good heigh. Google earth hasnt even been able to help me out on using the picture of the actual lot. I would have drawn the course in on a picture of the lot if i could get a decent one.

however the size you have now on your layout is almost perfect. Just fix the things i've shown you and it will be awesome.

Oh also the entire infield is layed out with cones in a "U" shape
i will have to test this
