Quote from Michael Denham :I think you're taking what he said too seriously, it was just a joke, more worthy of a ROFL response than a couple of paragraphs And from reading your comparison between the 997 Turbo and the R35, are you implying that you are a modern day Einstein?

Please don't feel you need to respond seriously, I am just having a laugh!

As for lack of tire warmers, my first thought was 'wow, there's enough trouble on the first lap anyway', but I realize you need to see how the new tires are to make that judgement. Perhaps they will work better at lower temperatures, as suggested already.

It's OK, I've just been too busy and stressed out lately. Anyway, lack of TC and return to slicks are great ideas. Tire warmer ban? WHY?!? As if restricting CFD testing wasn't silly enough? More cold tire contributed turn 1 mayhem? So that's what people call entertainment these days? Races that finish with more than half the grid DNFed on turn 1 lap 1?
Yeah, doesn't make much sense to me either. Maybe the slicks will be more predictable and progressive when cold, but still, I don't see the advantage of taking away the tire warmers.
Quote from bbman :Pretty much every endurance series manage without those heating blankets just fine, why should the self-proclaimed "pinnacle of motorsport" run into problems then?

Quoted because being ignored while still valid... Loads of other leagues manage T1 without incident with packs greater in number and diversity, why is F1 the only one bitching about not having their beloved tire warmers?

The whole field is being given a whole lap to warm their tyres: the parade lap. They cool down while the field regroups at their starting positions, so the first cars start on cold tyres anyway, yet I haven't seen any team moan about the backmarkers not entering their positions fast enough...
I think there is a difference between using tires that are not intended to be used without pre-warming and tires that will be designed for use without.

I think next years tires will be safer when cold than the ones used today. I can not imagine Bridgestone not adapting to this.

Every part of a racing car is made to suit regulations and circumstances.
As i see it, maybe there will be some passing now that everyone's tyres are different temperatures after pitstops.
It would be just stupid and very dangerous to ban them...
bbman needs to quote his own post for a second time.
Nah, I've given up on them... They'll only repeat the same nonsense anyway...

Heat the rims!
The teams will just get something that resembled that green thing with a flamethrower off that programme that they had with Craig Charles ...
Funny pic I found:
