AS3R... cutting
pardon me if this has been mentioned... but i'm currently watching SS1 and there are a number of times I have witnessed drivers cutting T1.. right thru the sand. I think you guys should put tires there or something... as it is very easy to cut at full speed as I have witnessed happening several times in the last little while.
Report it. they will be dealt with.
would be nice if you could put something there (ie tires) to prevent it happening in the first place...

trouble is - like FE Green and such like additional barriers etc etc can cause more problems than they are worth - its easier just to report the cutters
yh cos then those who guenuinly go off get penalised too(cos of damage of being rolled by tyres)

its not even that James..

people who have NOT gone off can get their races ruined by flying objects (such as tyres) that come BACK onto the circuit.

Sure a permanent barrier would not move - but the danger of cars hitting that and then coming back onto the track is even greater.

I've recently raced a few CTRA races at AS3R on various servers (race 2/3 etc etc) at that level people do not deliberately cut and there is no need for barriers - the guys who cut on the lower tier servers (or any server for that matter) should be reported and dealt with accordingly !
yh i see what your saying, a casing point of a trak were this happens alot is bl1
That's funny, I reported the same to an CTRA admin two months ago, and I was told a barrier will be in that place to prevent it. That shows they are overwhelmed with thinks to do!

Darn it! I will make sure a solid barrier is put in place, or possibly a marshal post. Dru is right about objects causing obstructions. Our tests have shown that hay bales in front of solid barriers are the most reliable means of reducing the risk to other drivers, and giving the occasional driver who overshoots the corner a reasonable chance to recover.

I still think that strapping a mattress to the front of a car is prefered than having a solid barrier..... or just reporting..

BTW.. i did a few races last night on SS1 at AS3R and everythnig was fine - no cutters and a good set of racers (about 20 i think )

sure there was a few problems at T1 - but seriously - if a barrier was there it would just make the carnage WORSE.

IMO anyone who deliberately should be reported and snctioned rather than just place a barrier there
This would have to be done by LFS, but those nasty grooved sand traps that will rip the front splitter off, "F" your car up pretty good and send you sailing into the air. That'll fix their wagons!
