The Ferraris are clearly faster in S2, there about 5 tenths faster then anyone.

Mclaren is fastest in S1 though.

that means the McLarens have better mechanical grip, and the ferrais have better aero grip as S2 are high speed corners.

Well not really. S1 is Ste.Devot and Massenet, neither of which are especially slow.

S2 is Mirebeau, Poitiers and the hotel hairpin, aswell as the tunnel, chicane and Tabac, the latter of which are fast, but the former are like the slowest corners of the season. Then S3 is just the Rasscasse and Anthony Noghes.

He couldn't finish his last qualifying lap because of the yellow flags for Coulthard's crash.

He may have made it to Q3 if it weren't for the flags but I don't think he would have gotten a better position than maybe 8th or 9th. He was really slow.
