Albeit losing quite some time in the first hour of the race, the Manthey Porsche is already 5th... Their speed is unreal, let's hope the car can take it to the finish...
Quote from Tweaker :lol, is Tilke even a good driver? Maybe he needs a taste of how a real man's circuit feels....

Sabine is in a Porsche 997 too.

Sabine and Tilke drive for many years almost every VLN Race 10 times a year
Pretty boring stream atm. Are the other camera operators sleeping?
Hows the LF-A going?

Yeah, it was better last year... Onboard-shots in the night, more pit-interviews and generally more operating cameras (they have like 4 different cameras: pits, T1, entry Nordschleife and the helicopter - that's it )
last year they broadcasted onboard vids with music in the night, and like last year they only focus on the ~10 top teams, why didn't they send out like three camera/journalist teams interviewing every team from time to time
Yeah, the stream is really boring and transfers about 0% action and excitement to the viewer.

wow the Super 2000 BMW 320d in the Top 10, with Augusto Farfus Jr.

Quote from www.fiawtcc.com :
BMW 320D IN NÜRBURGRING 24H
BMW’s WTCC works drivers Augusto Farfus and Jörg Müller will drive a Super 2000-spec diesel-powered BMW 320d this weekend in the Nürburgring 24 hour race.

The car will be run by the Schubert Motors outfit, while Farfus and Müller will share driving duties with Scandinavians Fredrik Ekblom and Stian Sorlie.

The BMW 320d that will be raced in the 24-hours is fitted with the same type of engine that BMW have been using in the BMW 120d car for endurance racing. A machine that proved to be very successful in the 2006 Nürburgring 24-hours, finishing the race in a brilliant fifth place, ahead of many more powerful cars.

This will be Farfus' maiden experience on the infamous 25-km Nürburgring Nordschleife

amazing, although Farfus is driving, they are still in the race!

HAHA once again it proves that Toyota sucks!
Honda FTW

They also cutted the crash (yesterday, the german tv rather show the interview instead of the crash)

No need for fanboy flamewar

Their goal was to achieve as much experience and data from that race, they drive a prototyp, and they seem to be way better than the
"HEINZ-HARALD FRENTZEN HYBRID Gumpert Apollo, which is on the last place atm (smashed two diffs)

They had Frentzen for a interview an hour ago, that guy has no idea, he couldn't even name the diffrent track parts ("Thats Flugplatz", "Sorry Harald, thats Pflanzgarten")

During the night? Pretty good for such a relatively small event. Even Le Mans doesn't have much more than that during the night.

Still, when they could make it interesting last year, why was I falling asleep way before the halfway-mark this year?

The sound was utter shite, you missed the first part of an interview because there was no audio while only having one of the 4 cameras as video feed - but somehow you can watch the associated video on the website now... You hear two questions, then the audio is gone again, but can hear the interview still going on the track speakers - masked over by the engines, so you don't understand anything... Don't get me wrong, I love engine sounds, but I can hear them the rest of the time enough... You had to constantly adjust your volume, as the interview mics were incredibly loud while you could barely hear the moderators in their cabin at times... Then at about 22:00, we obviously got feed from a camera outside, way too loud... I was glad I had my volume turned down almost completely or I'd been deaf... There was absolutely no moderation at night, nothing but the same camera angle for hours and there were hardly any statistics to be seen... The only thing we got was a planned stop here and there...

Either the technical crew consisted of idiots who didn't know what they were doing or worse, they didn't care for the spectators tuning in via stream...
I didn't watch it at all so I don't know/care about the coverage itself, I was just talking about the amount of cameras during the night.

It's actually incredible that even in Le Mans, which is obviously much bigger event than this, they shut down most of the cameras except the few on the main straight. Altough in pitch black you wouldn't see much anyway, only a huge light ball when the car is coming towards the camera and then nothing when it has passed but it would be still better than nothing.
I think something went wrong, normally the stream should have broadcasted the cameras + the live audio from Radio 1 Nürburgring, which is the main broadcaster for the fans around the ring.
