I means the gap of two cars' horse power....
FZ50 is 360 bhp
UF1 is 55 bhp
360-55=305bhp....
The hp gap between 2 cars in a twins drift is 305....
watch the mpr plz....
UF1 is Front-Wheel Drive. Drifting is about overpowering the rear wheels to unbalance the car, so that it can corner at queer angles. You cannot drift a front wheel drive car. You can handbrake it, or throw it in at odd angles, but it will never ever ever be true drifting. EVER!
No,you can't drift the UF1.You can only oversteer using weight transfer and you can't link corners and drift smoothly with an FWD car that doesnt even have power to do it.
So you defy not only the laws of physics, but you also defy what drifting is - "Forcing the car out of control by overpowering the rear wheels". That must be one damn fine replay
FWD arse sliding is NOT drifting. Any moron can put a FWD car sideways and call it drifting but does not make it so.
Some sad people like to believe it's drifting but dragging locked rears or having an insane setup that has no rear grip is just not drifting, its just arse dragging.
I bet "Keiichi Tsuchiya" (whoever he might be) was probably talking about RWD cars and yes you can drift ANY RWD car.
ONLY people have have FWD cars and like drifting like to pretend its drifting, everyone else knows its just lame. Show a FWD car "drifting" next to somebody actually drifting in a RWD car and you will see the FWD car just looks sad.
In my opinion a drift is a state where the car is oversteering*. Is it reasonable with a 60 hp fwd car is another subject.
Somebody may think that you need an RWD car to drift, and somebody might think that you need to link x many corners to call it a drift. You can argue about the subject endlessly and never end up anywhere.
But that doesn't change the fact that this is not general LFS discussion, or not even discussion at all. And I can't be arsed to reboot into Windows to check the replay, you could have made a video of it in youtube (if it's not blocked by china government) and post it in the video section.
* Wikipedia: Drifting (motorsport), which is a sport where drivers intentionally induce oversteer, to be judged on their technique.
If this is what you think about what dirfting is, then you must be a poorly skilled drifter.
Drifting is controlling a slide of the car. Overpowering the rear wheels is the simplest (and noobest) way to initiate that slide.
As long as you get the car sliding on purpose, then you drift it. Watch rallye races, most of the guys have got AWD or FWD cars and still they slide all the way around the track, even if it is on asphalt courses.
Any moron can put a RWD car sideways and call it drifting, but it doesn't make it so. Just go in any drift server and you'll see at least 50% of the guys there taking the XRT or the FZ5 and using the power to launch it sideways.
Partly true, partly wrong. At the beginning, drifting was just a driving style. Nowadays, there is that craze about showdrifting (aka : clearing corners as fast as an UF1 would with a 500hp+ car, and call it "stylish" <-- imho, i don't flame/blame people from showdrifting).
So to get back from the topic, an FWD car can drift and hold it. The most simple way is to pull from times to times the ebrake in a corner (to prevent the powerundersteer of the car). For faster corners, you can also brake with your left foot while accelerating with your right : controlling the amount of pressure on the brakes will help you control your angle and speed.
And if you guys want to drift fast, you have to forget that drifting is about oversteering. Drifting fast is a mix of oversteer and understeer at the same time (so basically : sliding with the 4 wheels, and not simply two). Once you guys get that, and stop thinking about overpowering the rear wheels, then maybe you could start being called good drifters.
