?? The most easy way is E-braking not power over, allot of the guys out here also use the feint technique, or possibly the clutchkick (wich i prefer along with dirtdrop). And no thats not true about the 4wheel drifting, look at the movies of the D1GP there not always having huge angles, u should inform yourself better before answering like a headless chicken. An BTW Keiichi Tsuchiya guy really diidn't ment FWD imo; even he knows that's the most idiotic way to drift.
Is Keiichi Tsuchiya the guy called The drift king who was showing the basic 6 techniques of drifting in Drift bible?
At least 3 of them techniques can be used for drifting a fwd car. Dynamic drifting, power lift of technique and braking into a corner (not e-braking).
Is there any sense in your sentence at all ?
I'm sorry, but you are the headless chicken here. What's the point between 4 wheel drift is false and they don't have huge angles in D1GP?
Look at LeMans races under rain, you'll see that their four wheel lose grip after the apex of the hairpin and they get an angle of about 7-8° through it.
The basic idea of the 4 wheel drift is : oversteer-->understeer (like grip) : you progressively lose grip of the rear wheels at the beginning of the corner till the apex, then you reaccelerate and progressively lose the grip of the front wheels while progressively regaining it at the rear wheels.
In theory simple as ABC, in real condition, it requires some guts and skills to do it.
And this is fastest. to say in a universe you can understand, look at Saiko D's setups. They are the best drift team ever and their setup are really understeery under acceleration, which makes them go faster while still sideways.
So don't be rude unless you have the elements to counter the point of any guy. It just makes you appear as an ignorant preck.
But for the record you would call what Rally drivers do "POWERSLIDING" Much like what the UF1 can do. Theres a fine line between Drifting and Powersliding and many cant see it.
So open your eyes and judge it on what it actually is Powersliding or Drifting.
Also after finally watching the video i have to say im actually quite impressed with the driver of the UF1
Yes, I am a very poor drifter. Primarily because I think it's pointless, so I've never done it
The ProDrift series was held in Ireland (where I live ). I went down to see it, Mondello isn't too far away from me. Not one car there was front wheel drive. There were two four wheel drives IIRC, but all of the rest were rear wheel drive.
Look at D1GP. Have you ever seen a front wheel drive car compete there? No, because it's just stupid. You can slide a shopping trolley if you like, but it's still not drifting (Unless you make the trolley rear wheel drive :razz.
A drift is supposed to be controlled using a combination of throttle and steering. You can't control a FWD drift using the throttle, as it won't affect the rear wheels. You can lock the rear wheels (and look like a complete tool), and you can cause oversteer. But oversteer != drifting...
BTW, drifting is mentioned nowhere in that article.
So, oversteer is when you lose control, unintentionally. Drifting is when you are facing the inside of the turn, and turning the wrong way. Doing that in a FWD car would just cause you to travel towards the outside of the turn, and continue that way.
This is not trying to provoke a flamewar, this is just explaining that it simply can't be done, it defies physics
BTW, that UF1 vid is using tweak to make it RWD. Just look at the skidmarks...
Why do you speak when you dont even saw the replay.
I was really surprised of how well he manage to link the corners with the uf1 , he is using a strange setup yes but after all their are doing it for fun and when something looks so close to real thing its ok + it need some skill to manage to do something that the car isnt supose to
Every drift set feels understeery on normal driving not only Saiko D's sets and this is the result of excessive negative camber that makes the tire to have the best surface contact at about the half way to the full lock , and this isnt about going faster but to have a sharp steering control under countersteering contitions
(there are other factors too (suspension) , that makes a car understeery , but when we are speaking about drift sets this is the most common)
I feel great, 'cause I have the ability to understand an entire sentence.
"BTW, that UF1 vid is using tweak to make it RWD. Just look at the skidmarks...". There is only one video in this thread. This one. Seemingly I'm not the "ignorant perk", whatever that is BTW, pressing 'F' while watching it won't make a blind bit of difference. You'll just fail.
I'm closing the thread because it is not turning into a useful discussion and is starting to cover the same old ground and we are now receiving reported posts.
So I close the thread in the interests of keeping the forum clean.
