Ok I've found something a bit odd.

I just managed to obtain my Bronze licence and so I thought I could join RACE 2 server. Well when the server let me in I assumed I could drive there with a Bronze but then when I go to choose any of the available cars it says you need a Silver license to drive them.

Errr.. maybe I'm being dumb, but what's the point of letting people on the server if they can't drive any of the cars? I can't believe anyone is going to want just to spectate surely??

Nope, Race 2 is silver only

With bronze you can only spactate not race.Its weird you're right but there are people who might want to watch a race to find out what silver license can offer

Yah, it's actually to fix another "problem". See by bronze licence you have got the concept of the system and stuff, but unlicenced new drivers used to connect and repeatedly attempt to join which caused lag on the server. So in the first weeks of the first STCC system second tier and above completely closed entries to unlicenced drivers to prevent that.

There was never any problem with letting people watch, the problem was the join race attempts which people not familiar with the system repeatedly attempted.

That explains the practical thinking behind it

Personally, I quite like this feature, as it meant I could watch the very first SS3 drivers when I'd just got my National B licence - gave me something to aim for the same applies, I suppose, for those with Bronze watching Race 2 & 3.

Perhaps, though, it'd be a good idea to set up a message which is displayed to a lower-licenced driver when they join the server? I believe a message is sent to a driver who has no licence when they're kicked, but not to, say, a Bronze driver who comes into Race 3? If these drivers were reminded that they're not able to drive in the server, the attempted joining issue would be lowered even further.

ive on quite a few occasions gone to spec race 2 and 3 while some of the other ukct guys were there so i could take the mik out of them in ts lol
