The online racing simulator
odd because even though the forum is on another server, it's located on top of the lfs.net server and using the same network, so you should be able to reach lfs.net and the master just fine.

what's the message you see when you want to browse to lfs.net?
just the usual.......Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

i ran a tracert too and got this back. it times out all the way to 30

hm ok. Must be some weird routing issue then
and now it's fixed. must be on the isp side of things because i was at work all day and my brother has a hard time opening a tin of beans so he couldn't of fixed it.
thanks for your time victor.
Just thought I`d post in here since it may be sort of related.

Anyone having any problems accessing the forums tonight? I`m having to click many of the pages twice to get them to load in using either Firefox 2 or IE7.

A traceroute to the forums (lfsforum.net) is showing large packet loss as soon as I hit the level3.net servers all the way through to lfs2.hosted.netline.net.uk, but traceroutes to the main site (lfs.net) show no packet loss at all from entering level3.net to the final hop at lfs4.hosted.netline.net.uk.

Traces to lfsworld.net show no loss for me either, but it`s on the same server as the main site - lfs4.hosted.netline.net.uk

Only seems to be the lfs2.hosted.netline.net.uk server.

Weird one, but it is getting bloody annoying.
I'm not alone then. Virgin Media FTW again.

I'm getting packet loss from lfs.net, lfsforum.net and lfsworld.net.
It is an ongoing issue, a lot of traffic is being diverted, which just means general slowdown.

And for the record, this is the first major issue I have had with NTL/Virgin Media in about 8 or so years.

Also, watch the status site.
i love those status pages. Broadband indicator is red and underneath it says 'there are currently no issues'.

uhu..
I've been having trouble for a week now where web browsing periodically stops working but other connections (MSN, online games, ftp, scp etc) are all fine. Powering the router+modem off for a few mins so far has cleared the fault every time. I'm not bothering to investigate the issue too much provided I have a connection up until I move in a few weeks, so no Delhi call centre for me !

I've been having the same problems, where the internet connection keeps on going down. I rang them up a couple days ago and they reckon it was my 5 year old hub not being compatible with the 20mb line (more like 10mb).

I replaced the hub yesterday, so far so good. However, I'm still betting on the connection going down.
Switching to Sky, bye bye Virgin Media.
sky is worse m8. the cap their lines alot and you are limited (download) to about 4gb per month.

Swtiching for the TV though, I don't use the internet quite as much as I used to. Sky can give me motorsTV, which is all I have ever wanted to have, the other billion channels won't even be looked at.
