Good qualy session, I thought Kubica had it then but Hamilton did a great lap.
SHUT UP ITV BLOKES.
That is all.
Edit: Dave - I assume that was aimed at the Hamilton fan outburst at the end by the commentators. Gosh, if ITV offered a new service with some non-biased people talking then i'd pay for it.
Amazing! Hamilton flying! woho POLE POLE! Damn nearly 1 sec faster than Kimi, and Kubica, nearly thought he got Lewis there, but not for long ! Amazing qualy
Track was pretty farcical and it's only going to get worse tomorrow
Ferraris are slow because they're just horrible on the kerbs, it's very obvious from the onboards... McLarens and Williams just float over them, the Ferraris bounce and lurch a good distance after they've landed
Hamilton on his last lap just creamed them. Someone should have told he was in a car not a kart kerbage to the maximum. Mechanical sympathetici my a*se!
Rosberg seemed to be the only other guy willing to cream the last chicance too!
Alonso, again putting in the performances.... !!!!! I don't think Piquet is going to pull out a 'Heikki' here in Canada.
That is no excuse really. I would like to see commentators remain un-biased, or if they do carry a favouring, then make it a little less subtle than the obvious man love James has for Lewis. It's the same in football though, I will not listen to Motty/Pearce/Wright/Archie McPherson due to the obvious biased comments. (link for those who are not sure who Archie McPherson is, this is from County's Cup run a couple of years ago, and listen to the patronising a-hole talk about County CLICK)
I watch F1 with the sound down, almost having to switch it off. That is not got business in my view. The 50% increase is explained by the fact that for once we have a driver worthy of wining the championship, it is no reason for a shocking biased commentator.
ITV is a comercial organisation. WHy would you expect ANY different. You are in the minority of people that want to hear about the whole grid more so. The silent majority have the greater importance in this case.
I agree, I don't like over bias commentators especially James Allen (better writer than commentator), but I completely 100% understand why a COMMERCIAL TV station in the UK will cover Hamilton more. If I was a TV boss I would probably do exactly the same. £££ talks
ITV reported a 50% increase in viewing figures in the UK which is the only place they sell advertising (correct me if I am wrong). I am GUESS ING that the show they send abroad does not benefit from advertising income from the channels they sell too.
As long as the advertisers are happy with the extra viewing figures, and ITV continue to sell abroad I can't see them changing.
I am not saying I appreciate the bias coverage, but from a business point of view if Hamilton is the main attraction, which he undoubtably is in the UK, then naturally ITV will push that.
Those 50% of extra viewers aren't 'F1 fans'. They are new people who I would imagine aren't what you would call F1 fans. A lot of people that followed Henmania weren't tennis fans either. Clearly not enough F1 fans are complaining for them to take notice, and it clearly isn't affecting their finances. The world of commercial TV... though the BBC wont much different
I don't think there was excessive Hamilton bias really. He was at the front of the timesheets almost all the time so it should be expected that he is talked about at least as much as anybody else. I think they revel it in when he does well, but I don't mind that too much either. James Allen talks nonsense most of the time, he shouldn't still be doing it, but for plenty of other reasons ahead of bias
Good last session, nice climax with Kubica bolting to the front and then Hamilton storming back. It's always tainted by the fuel-load cloud which hovers overhead during every Q3, but it was still entertaining.
Were did i say I want to hear about the rest of the rid (which I do tbh), there is a difference between unbiased commentary, and believing the sun shines out of Hamilton's arse.
If you were the TV boss, and more and more fans are switching off and/or complaining about the commentary - would you just let it continue?
Moose has point three covered
But why would ITV care anyway, it's there last year......unfortunately I don't hold much more hope from the BBC.
No of course not. If it was affecting advertisers income. But it doesn't appear many people are complaining, and that anyone is turning off.
It appears the viewing figures are superb, and that is because of Hamilton. As a TV boss I would follow the £££ regardless of what I feel about the bias. That's just business mmaaaannnn.....
I don't like the over bias, but I certainly don't expect ITV to change.
