I like your idea. Granted when it comes to competitive leagues it may not work to well on most tracks but for everyone else it would make the game a lot of fun since we can jump in a race with(one of) our favorite car(s) and still have a good chance at taking the flag do to assorted skill levels on the pub servers.
While at the same time I also liked his idea of each car having two or three different models while performance isnt effected in anyway. So for example the XFG guys can have their beloved fiat looking hatchback but also have a choise of driving that same car but in a more VW golf or peugeot 106 or honda civic hatch. Something oldschool car enthusiasts to something new looking to give something to appeal to anyone who likes driving the car.
I'd also like to see a lightweight RWD car similar to the NA Mazda Miata's, MK2 Escort Cosworth, ae86, fans. something like 2100lbs, high reving 1.6 and around 160 or so horsepower. 50/50 weight distribution.
and perhaps a touring/GTR version if that car, something like 1750lb's, huge fenderflares, same 50/50 weight distribution, a compitition bread super high reving 1.6 that makes between 200 and 240hp depending on how fast you want the car to be between the XF and XR GTR's.
Perhaps it could take some styling ques from an mk2 escort or a bmw 2002 and its race counterpart, or a perhaps more 80's styling that would please the ae86 fans like an ae86 levin and a touring/gtr version like this n2 levin with its big ass flares.
ya i know that would be cool. but think about it, would you really wana see a bunch of people driving in 92 civic with the chopped spring, big useless muffler and there chrome rims they bought at Canadian Tire? I see that enough on the street. I suppose I could actually wipe them off the road in the game tho... hmmm... Tempting I admit...
Yeah, S3 is all about fwd drifting at mud-rallycross-park. And there is a fwd monster truck with radio controlled submarine detection system. And it's aawsome! But the best part is that the physics are perfect. Almost as good as in NFS:U!!!1112234to87439
BTCCs were mentioned. THink TBO, slicks, maybe a body kit (not as 'rude' as the GTRs ones), a bigger spoiler (between the road and GTR cars),same power as normal TBOs, racing cockpit and that's it.
We definitely need a rwd nonaero race car with slicks to compete with the XFR/UFR... This is what i really miss in S2 I'd love to race in this class but sorry, for me fwd just sucks...
Maybe also an AWD car for that class
Actually those cars are very interesting - fast, not too fast, and very small.
But anyhow, those FWDs are undrivable because the tyres are burning after 2 laps...
Yeah, I notice that as well, if you're doing things right, you'll have the tires of the UF or XF up around 100ºC in very short order, but not much wear on the tires(so they don't get changed at pit stops) and I usually pop one of the front tires about 4-8 laps in(depending on the track). But I really struggle to be compeditive with RWD cars, so I usually stick with the FWD cars.
Hm, acually the BTCC-like idea of TBO class with slicks, etc. could fit into the same clas as the UFR/XFR. And thus, we get a RWD (XR) and an AWD (RB). The FXO stays FWD, but we all have what we want
I would like a twin engined Honda GX160 Pro Kart (a type of go kart suiteable for endurance racing) and of course a nice out door race track - and maybe put an indoor track where we can lay out courses with tyre stacks .
