If you're still not sure whether to enter or not, here's some words from people who competed last season:

‘The LFSBC teaches you that, no matter how slow you think you are, there are always people of your ability to battle against. Racing against, and sometimes beating people who you thought were so much faster than you really feels good.’

‘LFSBC was the first league I'd entered, even though I'd been on S2 for over a year. I didn't really have enough confidence in my own abilities to enter one of the major leagues. So, I signed up, hoping to at least keep up with the backmarkers. After a couple of races though, I found that I could compete on the same level as lots of the other racers. After the series I'd found that there are other racers at the same level as me. Being able to beat others who I thought would be far better than me, was amazing. It's a real confidence booster, and is a great intro to LFS League Racing - I'll certainly be competing again.’

'LFSBC is pretty much the perfect introduction to league racing. The organisers saw something missing in the league scene - something that caters for the new players in LFS. If you're new to LFS and/or new to league racing, then the LFSBC will serve you well for you're first league experience.'

'I think that what I learned the most in LFSBC is the basic rules of racing and sim racing mostly. I liked the great racing it provided with people of my level. It's a great way to get into the LFS league racing world and will teach you how to avoid crashes and how not to make some useless mistakes so that once you get into higher level leagues you don't completly make a fool of yourself. It's really a great introduction to the LFS league racing world and was very helpfull for me. It's also a very friendly league were you make lots of friends and people help eachother a lot to get faster. Now, off course, in the end it's all about the fastest and it's very competitive at times. If you're not fast enough to get first, then aim for a level which you think is good. And that's why I think LFSBC is a great league. You get a level of racing which is almost the same as yours and instead of focusing on being the fastest you focus on giving a good race and not letting other win easily if you can't.'

10 sign-ups so far - just over a month till season start
I'm such a beginner I don't even understand the requirements to enter. And that most likely means I don't qualify as a beginner.

I think I'll go play golf...

I think I'll go play golf...

Um, which ones don't you understand?

For the CTRA ones, you need to visit a CTRA Server (either Race 1, Single Seater 1, Bump & Jump or UF-BR) and type in $password to set up an account and start earning points. For the distance one you just need to drive around online alot. For the hotlap one you need to sign in to www.lfsworld.net and upload a hotlap, within 103% of the WR.

Attain two of those and then you can enter

But I'm not going to stop you playing golf though

10 sign-ups so far - keep 'em coming in - just over a month till season start.
Could you get em to say something on SRT, because 10 sign ups with a month to go is pretty poor, considering that only about 7.5 competitors will turn up

Is the LFSBC too much of a n00b event for SRT?
Darn, Joe. I thought of that months ago but forgot to speak up...

Considering they've done other stuff aimed for n00bz, why not take this then?
Well I think I'm a bit too busy this week, and I go on holiday on Sunday for a fortnight, so I won't be able to do anything I'm afraid.

As long as Joe doesn't do it, I don't mind

Round 4 of the Live for Speed Beginner's Cup is live on NDR TV.

We might have a commentator too, otherwise you'll just have to make do with Dekojester yelling at Joseph for driving the safety car into darryn (oh wait my plan is foiled!!)

The combo is FOX/Aston National, 20 mins of quali in 10 mins time then 2x 7 lap races.

bwahahaha... With Josephs antics, i would rather have had him drive into me AGAIN, cause at least that would've meant that he would actually have been there to do his job...

hmmm
oh yeah... The broadcast file needs to be uploaded in some tube. I wouldn't want to though
The final round of the second season of the Live for Speed Beginner's Cup is this coming Saturday, at 8pm GMT.

It's the endurance round, at Aston Historic, using GT2 cars (CTRA restrictions), for 1 hour.

We haven't really had very large grids for some of the rounds so far this season, so we want as many people as possible to come to this round, as otherwise it might become a bit of hot-lapping!

Thus, we are welcoming any Season 1 participants who want to turn up and drive to come along and join us, also any other beginners who wish to join us, so that we have a nice grid. It should be a very good race - the track is not too challenging, and you should have someone to race with. If you wish to participate, click the link in my sig (the sign-ups one), and sign up there. If you are a season 1 participant and want to come, then PM me

To find out more information about the series in general, or more about the upcoming Mini-FBM series, visit our subforums here on the lfsforum or visit our website

Furthermore, if you have any questions, post in this thread, in the LFSBC Q&A thread in the NDR section of the forum, or PM me or Dekojester

We hope to see as many of you on Saturday as possible.
Season 2 of the Live for Speed Beginner's Cup is now complete.

Congratulations to our series winner Yann Laprevotte (GreyBull [CHA]).

Final standings e.t.c will be posted here soon.

Season 3 will take place in Spring 2009 - hope to see lots of new faces then
