So the PC was reformatted (again), and LFS is gone from my grasp. I was thinking of putting it in a CD 'cause no one in the house wants me to install anything 'cause they blame me for the virus.
Probably not, or at least very very limited. Anything dynamic that would have to be written to the disk wouldn't work, so editing options, setups, skins or creating replays etc. would be a no-no. A USB stick would be a better option, IMO.
If your drive can also burn disks, you can try UDF formatted media.
If your drive supports writing DVD-RAM disks, it may be even better, as these disks are very reliable. I bought a DVD-RAM disk in 2004, used it frequently for backups, and it works perfectly to this day. It outlived several normal +/-RW DVD disks, and even my DVD drive
I keep my lfs on a USB stick/flashdrive. Only thing is, I have to keep low on the skins, skins on my computer in skins_X reached almost 3 gigs already.
For your situation it seems like a USB drive is your only way to go, since your low on cash, BC lfs updates every time u open it, if u go to a server it has to download skins, and put it in the skin X folder, and if its on a CD, it wont work. What i do is save my most recent lfs on my external, but between my hard drives, i have about 8 versions of lfs.. so yea.
