once again I see the aversion to bangers this forum has, personally I don't care if people on here hate banger racing on LFS much as people seem to hate cruising. Just because most of you find it fun to join in a procession around the racetrack for god knows how many hundreds of laps doesn't mean you have a right to knock what we do for fun. And at the end of the day it is for fun, banger racing. Yes we hold leagues and stuff but no one (bar a few) take it very seriously and it's a good laugh. All you people on here who seem to badmouth it, I've never seen ANY of you in one of the banger servers, so how can you pass judgement on something you haven't tried?
At least we put the physics engine to good use, seeing as most of you racers out there have never damaged anything more than your bumpers and then had to apologise for doing so.....

If you want to act so negative to a thing that you possibly haven't even tried yet, then try it first and then come back with a valid opinion because frankly without even having an experience of it you can't make a true comment.

The reason I don't like what you guys do is simply because you have two kinds of banger racers... You have "bang"er racers that actually go around the track, nudge nudge here, tap tap there, and try to win the race. Then you have your crasher, which I would say makes up a good 60% of the banger community. You know who I'm talking about, the guy that dive bombs people without even touching the brakes going into a hairpin corner. Bang and crash are two completely different things and untill you guys find a way to control people like that, I'll never respect it. I do however respect the true banger racer but sadly they are hard to find.
Erm... according to your definition there, you're saying that people who are "true banger racers" are what some people in the banger racing community would call "rodders", meaning they go into banger racing meetings only looking to win the races, which makes it boring. Watch this video to see the real entertainment value behind banger racing, not your deluded definition of it and the supposed "crashers", who are the TRUE banger racers.
at the end of the day the banger servers do have a minority of people who try and win the races with minimal contact like you said, but the majority are doing it in the true spirit of banger racing, not really caring if they win or not as long as they have fun and a laugh. It's not meant to be a serious thing (game wise anyway)
you're posting something that could easily be replaced (and would benefit from) a zipped archive of JPG screenshots, and a MPR file
2 minutes of screens + a 7 minutes of crashing with absolutely no proper camerawork don't make a good, adrenaline filled movie.
The quality is bad, there are huge lags that shouldn't be in a movie, there's no mpr message block, no Shift F, poor use of Shift U, boring action (that is not banger racing, that's a bunch of crashers on a carpark with walls), nothing to make it exciting, so it literally pained me to see the whole 9 minutes of it.
When I saw that note about "more footage" I thanked god it wasn't included IF YOU WANT TO MAKE A MOVIE - READ A THREAD ON "HOW TO MAKE MOVIES"
Verdict : if you want to spend 9 minutes in pain - why not smack your penis between 2 bricks?
if you want to spend 9 minutes being bored - why not watch the wall?

Squidhead, please just get the hell out of the Movies sub-section because to be honest, everyone's tired of you and your friend slagging off other people's work just because it's not as good as yours. So what? No, I'm telling you that the people who go into the servers not looking to win a banger racer are not banger racers... They are crashers, plain and simple. Secondly banger racing in real life is completely different but IMO deserve the same amount of respect, which is none, if their mission is only to crash.

To sum all this up... I understand you guys find banger racing to be a form of entertainment and in real life it's fairly cool. However, dive bombing a corner and hitting someone so hard they warp jump out of the track is not banging, it's crashing, and in my book those two things are quite different. The thing about it is, if we could get rid of the "retards" then banger racing could be something many other groups of drivers (myself included) would enjoy. However I see no means put forth to control this... Thus all the people who enjoy ramming cars, which we all know takes a rocket scientist to do, will continue doing something that takes little to no skill and has no real winner. That's why I don't respect it.
About the movie - Well as I guess you understand yourself that the movie isn't perfect, next time just try better. Look at some other vid's and learn from them.
Jon606 - I was bored to quote all the things that I want to comment, so I'll just say it. You are wrong, I agree with squidhead and don't you even try to say, that I agree because I'm Latvian. Squidhead has right to have his own opinion and so as others, and you should atleast listen to criticism. Maybe he is trying to teach you, so next time the movie is better. And you can't just diss people because they don't like your movie. Im not not a drifter, but you are SO WRONG that drifters are hated here. And by saying that you just dissed all the drifters here and all the people who have made only drift videos. Drifting is so much better than some crashing, and believe me, crashers ARE HATED here and so as these kind of vid's.

And don't YOU try twisting that round to mean he knows nowt about videos, he obviously knows a great deal about video editing and producing a 5 minute video that probably took longer than the LOTR trilogy to produce. What narks me off is the people who come in and comment on this kind of thing when they have never even tried it but just automatically tar it with the 'hate' brush without taking time to consider how many other people actually enjoy this. I personally don't see the point in drifting but I actually have some respect for the people who get enjoyment out of it. BigTime - I see where you are coming from, but banger RACING is a CRASHING sport, don't be fooled by the word 'racing' into believing all that is involved is a bit of minor body contact/spinning. It isn't. A majority of people both in real life and online go out there to purposely crash and wreck their cars, as that is the fun of it. People don't generally save their cars in real life for more than a couple of meetings at most if they for some reason end up with a straight car at he end of the day.
And the people being hit full pelt don't mind, as the majority of them understand that it is part of the sport. If you are actually racing in the banger server part of the fun is trying to fend off people trying to do that to you
but at the end of the day like drifting/cruising/whatever there will always be a minority of people out there who see fit to make insane generalisations about the kinds of people who do them, usually along the lines of 'they can't drive properly so they have to hit things' which is complete and utter bollocks. What you lot who pour scorn seem to forget is the hundreds of people who actually enjoy doing what they do, putting LFS to good use and at the end of the day I think having a much better time than many of you keyboard heroes who knock stuff before they try it because they can't tear themselves away from their 6000 lap Silvermonzaspaparkracetrackarenacircuitoval snooze-athon and actually experiment a little with LFS
