Old one? illepall

Man I feel so twoyed right now, the victim of avatar stealage

Anyway, karting is great fun and the only karting I do is th arrive and drive stuff, indoor poopy things, fast enough though and a good laugh.

But real karting is and looks insanely good fun, if I had the money I would be karting but erm, I don't

And the bad thing is I know quite a few karters on here so my level of envy is huge! I suppose it's just luck, as to whether your parents have and are willing to spend money on it and those who have, lucky bitches.
Well, you had an avatar with this hamster-guy last time, I saw a post of you.
Yea, wishing someone well from a 300mph crash took prioroty of my baby avatar, but I changed it back aggggeeeesss ago, theifage I tell you.
Jesus mother******* Christ!

I just returned from my kart session. I think I'm dead now. Or almost, atleast.

For the record, we were driving at an indoor, two-story kart track (called Monza, you might know it if you're living in Vienna). The really really really fast laptimes are 40 seconds, but we usually drove 44-45 times at average.

I already drove at that track two years ago (my first time karting), for 10 minutes, and boy was I useless after that. But here comes the surprise: we did an company-internal race, so the grid was full at 14 karts. The warmup was 10 minutes. The qualifying, too. And the race... 35. Oh. My. God.

Almost an hour racing on my second time in a kart. Well, I qualified first, with a best time of 43.21 . From the driving speed point of view, I could've easily won. But at about half the race my hands were so useless, I really couldn't grip the steering wheel anymore. Next time I'll get some basic gloves, because my sweaty hands weren't actually improving the situation either. I think I could've easily done some 42.xx times at the end of the race with properly heated tyres, but while the will was strong, the flesh was weak. Very weak. Infact, I cannot even form a fist with my left hand at the moment

So after a total of 55 minutes driving (without break), 68 laps equaling 30.6 kilometers, and alot of willpower I finally finished second. I'm dead, but it was awsome!
i envy you like crazy androidxp
55 minutes is nothing, I usually go out for an hour, sometimes an hour and a half at a go on a test day. (Ok, so it's a hell of a lot easier on wide open kart tracks than small indoor ones :razz
Btw, for anyone complaining about FF tiring them in LFS, let me tell you: 200% FF is nothing!

@leifde: Yes, I think these are pretty normal race lengths for regulars, but not on your second time karting. There were only two things you could call a straight, the rest was corner-corner-corner-hairpin-hairpin-corner-...

Oh wait, here's the track layout: (start-finish was at the leftmost part of the bottom course)
E: and some pics of the lower track section

I was joking about the race lengths, 20 mins on an indoor track tires me out more than an hour in my kart outside. That looks like a good track, I've never been to a two-floor one, in fact I don't even think there's anywhere in the north of England with two-stories.

You're right about the FF too, real cars/karts can be very strong if driven at the limit, or even over the limit
ye i race karts !!but theres this brilliant two story track great fun !!in ireland go ther every week after racing !!nothing beats it
Indoor tracks can be tiring, especially if you get a kart that's oversteering. Outdoor can be tiring with oversteer. When I was racing endurance the shortest races would be an hour stint per driver, the longest would be a full fuel tank, that's anything up to an hour and three-quarters

You boys are just wusses
How big was that fuel tank? I know of people (tons of them) who run with 2.5l tanks I have a big 7.5l one even though I only do sprint racing. I don't know why I've got one that big on
Hopefully *Fingers crossed* I should be making regular apearances in local championships etc. Me and a few mates went for arrive and drive style karts once a week and have been asked back to drive porkarts in an event this month.

I did used to do events a few times like last year. But its money aint it.
if you get sposorship your sorted buts its getting it is the problem
i race karts. sorry for the most unbelivably huge bump ever, (2006) hehe but i was looking for other karters online, then decided it would be easier to make a search on here instead
