Screwed Over....
I really appreciate being screwed out of a race thanks to a changed password.... My power went out, and I joined back and ran a lap. My internet went out, and I tried to join back and the password had been changed... Thanks admins! You show your leadership capabilities once again.
To be honest if you'd disconnected the server twice during a league race i'm not surprised they changed the password to stop you timing out the whole grid.

How about complaining to your ISP and who(or what)ever caused the power failure?
You've been given three chances, messed up all of them and got locked out, sounds reasonable to me.

Mind you, I'm not familiar with the SC rules and I'm just reading this because it popped up in the list of new posts, just my opinion as innocent bystander.

Do you think that you could have done the race well with starting a lap down?

Most series I know use a "start late? tough luck!" rule. Not exactly a bad idea tbh...
A little off topic : Why is it still not in LFS remote... And also, does anyone know the pole time and the race times of 4th place or around that position? Just want to know how I would have done if I would have shown up.

On topic : Well, they probably did it because they didn't want you to risk lagging out again and taking out someone with you.
We changed the password because there was no need for you to finish the race, since we were many laps through. In addition, we didn't want the lag.

reasonable enough in my opinion...

edit* morpha, can you send me that girl in your avatar please, thanks.
You should know by now that if you time out in the StormCup during a race, it's an automatic DNF.

LOTA does the same thing if they see some people keep timing out. They change the password to stabilize the server and to keep the people with a poor connection out.

No its not...

Read the bloody rules!

Quote from lizardfolk :Basic Rules
There are a few Basic rules to follow during a LFSCAR: SC race.

How the LFSCAR: SC will be administrated
The admins are there to be your guide. They are not there to spot and penalize every single minor and controversial infraction. This is literally impossible unless we have a 10 man admin team. But since we dont, the admins are there to help guide/control the race. However, just because controversial and minor infractions will be penalized after the race. This doesn't mean they wont penalize you for outlandish behavior. Any blatant disregard for the rules and competitors will be penalized on the spot. However, as I stated before, we feel that it is best to have time to review any controversial incident (such as contact that results in a wreck) carefully and thus penalities will have to be given after the race

Contact
Stock car racing is often characterized by contact. Therefore, contact is allowed in LFSCAR: SC but only reasonable contact. For example, if you've made an attempt to avoid and slow your car down but still accidentally took out someone. Then you will not be penalized. However, if you have a blatant disregard for other competitors you will be penalized. Also, if you are involved in more than five incidents you will be place under review. Just because trading paint is allowed that doesn't mean you don't need to be careful while racing. Do your best to avoid contact.

Restarting
I'll keep this simple: Track is free once "Green Flag" is waved. But you are not allowed to gain a position before the green flag is waved

Bump Drafting
Bump Drafting is allowed, but you are required to gain consent. Consent of those who wouldn't mind bump drafting will post in the forums as proof of their consent. Also, bump drafting is not allowed on turns. You can only bump draft on the straightaways.

Yellow Flag
There is no racing to the line. Once an admin calls for a yellow flag start slowing down to 80 mph and maintain that speed. Do not overtake once the caution period is initiated and if you get over taken, calmly let the admin know and keep your cool. DO NOT CALL OUT CAUTIONS ON YOUR OWN. The admins will go by a system to call cautions and by this system only. That system is 3 or more cars involved in an accident. But those 3 cars has to be rendered stationary (spin counts). If 2 cars crash but a third car scrapes by that is not considered a caution.

The field is frozen the moment the caution quick chat is displayed on the screen. If you are racing side by side with another driver and unable to determine who was ahead of who just give the inside guy the position and inquire a check to the admins calmly. DO NOT FORCE ANY POSISTION

Blue Flag
You are allowed to disregard the Blue Flag. It would be preferable to follow it, but leaders will be warned that cars about to be lapped are allowed to try and fight for the position and hope for a caution. However, again, blatant disregard for others will not be tolerated. You may fight, but don't fight to the death. If the leader is just plain faster than you just kindly let them go.

Black Flag
If a black flag is waved at a competitor, that competitor must come into the pits. The competitor has 2 laps to respond to the black flag or else he will be kick from the race and be registered as a DNF.

A Black Flag may be waved to someone who either:
Is struggling with his/her car (either by damage or wrong set)
Show very poor driving standards

Passing Before the Start/Finish Line
During a restart, if you pass before the start/finish line, one lap will be added to your time for a first offense. A second offense will result in a black flag

Lucky Dog Rule
There will be a lucky dog rule for the lapped down cars. When the race is under caution, there will be a double file restart. Lapped down cars will be on the outside while lapped down cars will be on the inside. If there's a dispute between places just hold your ground and let the admin know. After one lap of caution period the admin will notion for the lucky dog to regain a lap back. Do not make a move to regain your lap until you are notified by the admin.

Provisionals
Provisionals will only be used if more drivers show up than the limited amount (in a normal race more than 31, in the short track oval more than 16). If this happens, then those who are within the top 60% of all the cars in the owners points gets to race no matter the time they put down. (They of course have to show up to qualify). Let me repeat. Among those who showed up, the top 60% in owners points will get a provisional. The rest will have to race their way in.

Cars
The Cars that'll be used is the XRT.

Pit Lane
Like the LFSCART, the official entry and exit to pit lane will be marked my cones. Failure to follow this will result in a penalty. If you are forced in to the cones then you will not be penalized.

Blocking
Blocking is allowed but only to an extent. If the car is on the verge of overtaking you, then you must give the right of way. Blatant disregard for others will not be tolerated.

Chatting
Chatting will go by this:
1st unnecessary chat - warning
2nd unnecessary chat - kick
3rd unnecessary chat - ban and DQed for the race

The rule will start once qualifying starts

Tire Warming
I'm sorry, but there will be no warming tire/cleaning tires/swerving allowed. Drivers should stay in a tight formation during caution laps. Do not speed up/slow down during yellow flag laps. During a caution/prerace laps a double file formation will almost always be formed so please absolutely no tire warming techniques.

Pit Stops
Drivers should remain in the lowest possible line when preparing to make a pit stop. Do not try to pit from the high line, and do not drift up on the track before turning onto pit road.

When exiting the pits during green flag stops, drivers may only come back onto the racing surface when it safe to do so. Do not come back on the track directly out of the pits. When merging onto the track, drivers must stay on the apron (the lowest line that's not banked) until the indicated cones end. Just follow the cones and signs, dont cause a wreck and you'll be fine.

Conduct
We expect all of the participants to conduct themselves maturely. In and out of the league. If you end up on the loosing end of a situation during a race, just be mature and calm about it. If you feel someone does something ignorant that costed you the race, again, be calm and mature. Inquire about it in the forums, or if completely necessary (person violates something over and over again and the admins dont catch it) just calmly let the admins know. There is never a place for revenge on the track

Telepitting/Immediate Spectate
Telepitting and or spectating suddenly is not allowed. Because a broadcast is planned, sudden teleporting from the track is not allowed, even if you are potentially dangerous to collect other people.

Disconnected
Unfortunately, disconnected will be scored as a DNF. We'll use the same policy as the one used by the STCC.

Or we could look to the Blackwood race, where all disconnects that rejoined were allowed to reenter the race.
Quote from Falcon140 :Or we could look to the Blackwood race, where all disconnects that rejoined were allowed to reenter the race.

Not at blackwood...That was Kyoto. Blackwood, no one rejoined because the rules were changed.
Quote from racer hero :Not at blackwood...That was Kyoto. Blackwood, no one rejoined because the rules were changed.

A couple of people blatantly broke the rules and rejoined not only the server, but went back on track.
I'm sorry but we did not blalantly brake the rules at blackwood. We were told that if we wished we were allowed to rejoin the race. So we did.

But after blackwood there was a pole in which clearly the majority wanted to allow rejoining the track but it was still decided that a disconnect was = a DNF. So from that point on it became official that disconnect = DNF.

Exactly, there was a thread completely dedicated to this controversy.

I remember I explained this before but it seems that I'll have to explain it again.

1. Tea and BigTime DID rejoin after being disconnected. Yes the rules were suddenly changed in race 2.

But this is why. In Race 2 we had many admins and not all of them agreed that a disconnect = DNF. In fact, I remember thor said it was "harsh". So I was out voted on that and thor and missing just went ahead and allowed a reconnect.

now there was a poll right before race 3 in which I asked the participants whether or not they would like me to stick with the old rule. The poll ended to keep things as they are because this rule ensures that those with connection problems dont keep reconnecting and potentially ruin someone's race (and BT's race was ruined in Race 2).

Here:
http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?t=44485

Notice that this was posted well in advance of Race 3 but after Race 2. And this also completely explains why Race 2 went the way it did (which I repeated in this post).

Now:

Quote from lizardfolk :Constant disconnection and reconnections will definitely start lagging other people.

It's decided that a disconnection will mean a DNF

The poll showed that the majority wanted it to be Rejoin Track. You have to add up both Rejoin Track and Rejoin with Added laps because they both have the option to Rejoin. So since DNF got the most on itself, most people wanted it to be Rejoin but not necesseraly with the counter for the laps continuing.

Anyways, I think DNF is better. :P
