Guess what i got
Well... i just bought the new ATI HD 4850, it seems to run good, but, i can't select more then 8x AA in LFS

in the catalyst Control center, i've selected 8x, and 'edge-detect', and i see 24x below 8x.

and another thing, i've plugged in the HDMI cable in my tv, and the CCC says the tv is now 1920x1080, BUT, i can not select that resolution in my settings...

i'm just like real 'weird' feeling

Sorry for the weird, strange message, but im kinda tired, and annoyed... because i lost all my files because i had to reinstall windows(tried to backup).
So if anyone could help me with my problem, please try it.

-Bose

edit, i've found out how to select 1920x1080.
but, when i do so, the screen gets really dark, and blurry(game(only full screen), and desktop) so... :S

oh no i hope mine will work fine

is your new CPU running ok?
i'm sure this isnt the problem xD
and yes, my new Quadcore is running good...
Did you uninstall your old graphics drivers before installing the new ones?
Are you using the latest Catalyst 8.6 Hotfix drivers?
Checked that stuff like the refresh rate is right?

I'll be getting a pair of 4870's soon hopefuly, I can't wait ...
well, i completly formatted my C drive, so they are gone, yes... and i can't find my card in the update website of ATI
thanks i'll try

edit-i can still only select 8x
btw, if i go any higher then 1360x768, my screen looks dark and blurry, but when i take a screenshot of it, it looks normall, so i might think something is wrong with the cable or setting in my TV :/

sorry for double post.

But is it possible that you can't select more AA in games?

and does someone know how to solve my resolution problem? i think it's something with my tv
Tried choosing " Use application settings " and seeing if LFS gives you the 16x setting .. ?

As for the screen, check the cable, although I doubt it's that.
Stupid question, your TV does actually support Full HD (1920x1080) does it?
Tried rebooting the pc, and then clicking on the detect display button in Catalyst?

Yep it does support it, it says max reported resolution is 1920x1080 at 70 hz

ill try to reboot and detect
Well, i tried what you said, but still the same...

i took a screenshot in 1920x1080. it looks normall on the screenshot, but in real life it looks really blurry.
and an other thing, in Test Drive Unlimited i can only select 4x AA
btw, i tried to select everything to "Use Application Settings", but that made a diffrence

The max you can select in TDU is 4xAA.

Are you sure your TV is right for that res (i.e. ignore your drivers)
Sorted on MSN, turns out he only has a 23" that supports 1366x768 max ...
