Edit - Any time i log into any of my PB Acounts they come up with a Error, When not Logged in there Fine but other Wise theres an Error, Thats why That Last Image is a Link not in IMG Tags,

I have one, but my spur gear/clutch section is messed up. I hit throttle and the thing doesn't move. At least I fixed it and it starts up now

i once owned a yz10 (long long time ago) and i still have my trusty old grasshopper2 which is currently undergoing some heavy modifications (brushless ... tyres from a vector etc)
and i might buy an old vector or a savage at some point in the future

and a friend of mine is trying to teach me how to fly

I just got rid of an original RC10T to a coworker not long ago. Bought it back in 91 or so and we raced back then.

That's cool. I've been having an itch to learn to fly RC. Especially since the 5 yr old loves airplanes and I thought it would be cool go get one and I have the yard for it (nice and big).

I find it Very Intresting with People who try to break Speed Records with RC but only if they have Real Controle over the Car,

EG Left and Right and Breaks, I Like the Oval Racers aswell as you need a Setup for that Type of Driving but Tie it to a Poll and just Letting it Go aint really Intresting to me,

I still need to buy one of them thinking about it. Was going to years ago, but they didn't take my debit card I had at the time.

Though that said my current RC is utter shite, and abused so much (It was a cheap ready to run, which I've over modded some parts), I really should bin it.

I have a 1/8 RC I.C. Carson Focus, havent raced it for over a year, it blew a front diff and am struggling to find a replacement

Also got RC Heli's that I havent flown in a dogs age.

I had a cheap smartech truck given to me... it was broken so i fixed it and threw out the old engine.... now it has a usefully quick trx2.5 engine from the traxxas revo.... runs well.... tho at the moment have no time to race it!!

I have an Xmod, it's pretty fast, espescially since I put Li-ion batteries in it (between 25 and 30mph top speed). They're 1/26 scale I think and you can mod them to get them to go 60mph+

I used to fly planes as a kid, with my Dads friend. I had a petrol Precedent HiBoy (cessna-like learner plane very similar to this) we built from a kit. He used to fly helicopters. I lost interest for some reason, cant think why. I got seriously into mountain biking so that could have been it. Ive always wanted a nitro rc car, just never got round to getting one.

My mate got one of these for his birthday. When it works, its great fun, highly addictive. I dont know how many rotors he has replaced though, its a bit flimsy.

Id love to make another RC project, Im thinking maybe a yacht

A friend of mine who I knew in the CaCC used to fly RC planes. I always wanted one, until it took a hard landing and snapped in half. Then I figured it'd cost too much to have a hobby like that.

Its not so expensive when you stick to 4 wheels.... tho the occasiaonal suspension damage does occur....

If on Road, 5 Mins,

Every Few Weaks give it a Full Strip down and this Will Help find/Stop any Problems that Could Devlope, Set aside 2-3 Hours for a Proper Job Hear,

Don't race anymore, but used to, and also Seriously. I started off with the Tamiya Topforce, finishing 5th in the Regional Championships about, ohh, 7/8 yrs ago now.

Then went on the Schumacher Cat 2000. Fantastic car that was. Finished 4th in the Regional's and 7th in the nationals.

Then broughts a Cat 2000EC, slightly lighty version of the Cat 2000. Yokomo brought out the YZ10 I think it was, and Lossi brought out their 2wd. There was no competition. Yokomo and Lossi won the lot.

Still pop up to Snetterton every now and then http://www.smmcc.co.uk/. They have a man made track for all sorts of cars.

I kind of lost my hobby of R/C cars a while ago... just because I invested way too much money into it (for my age at the time).

But I had all electric cars... mostly street.

-Tamiya TA-03 David Jun Limited Edition (completely modded with all hopups imaginable to make one fast machine (with typical battery packs, it would only last 3 mins)) Probably spent easily over $1k on it, and probably worth a good amount for the condition it is in. One thing in particular that set this car apart from all others I had looked at was that you could change the drivetrain with only about a few hours work of modifications. The carbon fibre plates allowed the motor & mounts to be placed in either the front or the rear, and since it was belt driven (for 4WD), you could take off the belt and either have FF, FR, RF, or RR drivetrain layout Was very fun to expirement with.

-Team Losi XT (I think that was the model name, but it was an old model, but still a great offroad electric car!)

-Team Associated/RC-10 DS (This was my first street kit car, and it was crazy since it was RWD. But it taught me a lot how-to drive, before moving onto the easier 4WD cars )

-HPI RS4 Rally (This thing is a piece of crap. I completely despise HPI because of this car. Well it cannot offroad at all, it is essentially a high-profiled road car, and maybe only good for a bit of dust on the road )

I think that is it, but I have friend who got into Nitro RC-10's after they saw my cars, and they still have theirs. Every now and then we try and find a place to go drive them in the dirt. But now a lot of courses for dirt cars are being closed down because people that live nearby have put in petitions for noise complaints :rolleyes:.

Oh well, I could come back and try my cars out again, but at the moment they are packed away for a later time

ahh a fellow 1:10 buggy driver ... isnt it tons of fun to laugh at people cleaning dirt out of their cars while your cars interior is completely closed off ?

i allways thought the cat was the leading car in europe during the 90s mostly due to that finnish driver who won the euros all the time

Buggy racing was the best. Nothing better than slapping in a 10T and blasting it around. Hardest Part. Making the car last 5mins

Yeah, crashing them is never fun. I bailed out of so many landings I cant remember, and I never took it up in anything more than a light breeze. Think, little boy terrified of breaking the best toy he ever had..

Helicopters cost more, I remember my Dads friend once crashed his because a little switch on the controller had been flicked accidently. It reversed one of the controls meaning when he tried to correct on take off it just went further over. The central axle thingy got bent and a few other bits, it wasnt just the money but the time stripping the thing down and building it up again, variable pitch rotors are (were? things might have changed) so complicated.

That reminds me of a stunt RC Helicopter video (I don't have the link to it), but the guy was insane with his stunts. He even landed it upside down, made it spin on the roter for a bit, then flew direct up, and span it back up right.

Hmm, this thread is making me ponder over giving up PC's as a hobby and get into RC's again, plus it means I spend more time outside.

My current car sucks (and I lost the most recent pictures of the lights I added).
