Need FZR mouse frip set
hey guys i have being trying to learn how to race the FZR and i alwyas spin out at the exit of the cornor, so what i think i'm doing wrong is i'm useing to much throttle, but [CD]aceracer who was nice an off to give me his setup to try said i was my differensil or something was wrong so what i'm wondering is could some one eather give me a pretty basic setup that will hopfully not make me spin out so much OR you can tell me what my problem is. It would be great if someone help me becuase i want to race with the FZR becuase its fast and i love the sound and the looks of it and i also have a sweat skin for it.
here are explanations for the diff -> http://en.lfsmanual.net/wiki/Main_Page

This is what i would do.
Go to Final Drive in the Pits. Then choose Clutch Pack LSD. Then lower the Power Setting.

Start with Power 60. Then adjust based on these two explanations.

Setting to low = bad traction = spinning inside wheel (revs go up) = hot tyres
Setting to high = sudden oversteer = drifting =hot tyres

Wrong...

setting low=more traction at the wheels, the inside wheel doesn't spin but the diff wastes power as i understand it hence the need for preload.

setting high=spin the inside wheel dori action but the power goes to the wheels better.
lfsmanual.net says:

Open diff:
Allows the driven wheels to travel at different lengths. This however means that when one wheel loses grip it will keep spinning until power is released. Not suitable for racing.

Clutch Pack LSD:
Likewise a higher power setting will reduce the chance of a single wheel spinning under power but will increase power oversteer in RWD cars.
well i always thought the locking percentage to be how close to a locked diff it becomes on the given circumstances, i.e. power or coast. And as i understand it locked diffs spin the inside wheel more. The whole point in a diff is to allow the inner wheel to be slower than the outer wheel to reduce spinning. If they are both locked together then the inner wheel will spin too fast and lose grip. So the higher your locking factor the more likely that your going to lose inside wheel grip. I'm pretty sure thats how it works.

Wheres Scipy when you need him?

Edit, just read the manual and thought about my RC cars diff. I am wrong.

Are you "good" in RWD cars? If not then learn the XRG, then XRT then the FZR will be a LOT easier...
ok thx guys for all your tips i'll test them out next time i get on lfs which won't be for awhile because i'm moving

It's just the other way 'round.
A locked diff keeps both wheels at the same speed locked. In corners you get rather understeer. A open diff allows both wheels to spin indepentently.
i know what they do. I just had the effects wrong. I knew the inner wheel spun with a locked diff and thought the lsd worked on those principles but it would seem not.

I thought an LSD worked like, one wheel started spinning and it transfered some power to the wheel that isnt spinning, there for increasing traction.
^rofl..how long time did you use to make that?

sorry for totally offtopic
