Haven't you heard about how bad methane is for the environment?!

Well, that's what the fartalytic converter will be for.
On-topic

I actually quite like the front end, but the back is ugly as sin. But at 235mpg it'll pretty much pay for itself.
Seriously, why there is imperial and metric systems? Can't the whole world use just one? Would make things a lot easier. Anyway:

235 MPG = 1L/100Km (so nice. i got an exact value )

back on-topic, i agree with Dajmin, the front end is pretty nice, but the back...
Quote :As for the engine, the concept had a one-cylinder diesel engine producing 8.5 horsepower and 13.5 foot-pounds of torque.

Doesn't sound like a powerhouse, I have no clue how much 13,5 foot-pounds is in Nm but I get a feeling it's somewhere between stationary and "Oh no, uphill. Unload shopping bags!"

Edit: Oh, there was already second page on this topic. Damn you people write fast.

This car definitely isn't for women, lol!
The only problem with high mileage cars is, when everyone gets one the gas companies will just boost their price per gallon to something unbelievable (screwing anyone in a gas guzzler) like 10x what it is now to cover the loss in demand.
Still better than running out of gas and having no alternatives.
hm, i'd actually drive that thing i quite like it, it's engineering at its best.
Quote from Rappa Z :to cover the loss in demand.

Ummm, not really.... If anything they would lower their prices, because there would be less demand and larger supply. Then, people would start driving more, and SUV sales would soar again. The gas companies would make a crapload of money, and then their supply would be low, so the price would go up again. Then people would buy 230MPG VWs again, etc, etc...

I like it. Reminds me of the old Messerschmitts. Not sure how I'm supposed to get an upright bass in there though, and it looks like it would be hard to even strap one to the roof.

Just wondering where the shopping bags were stored in the first place
