Quote from Nathan_French_14 :Sam should be a real hit with the lady's when he goes croooozin' in his "bad boi" corsa then

LOL.

One of my (fairly car-knowledgeable) friends just got a 306 and has fitted over £800 worth of audio stuff to it - he's only going to have it for a year or two until he can afford the insurance on his Triumph Spitfire (yes, his!).
I've done the same with my M3 and 306. I like listening to music, hence the reason i've fitted audio bits to them both, but i find it really stupid when people do things like take out the rear subs and put in some "super huga BASSSORRR SUBS" in the rear, or just make the dash one big speaker. Same goes for people who put stupid bodykits on shopping cars... Im not pointing any fingers. :P
I am not pissed off about that he made a comment about our A4 I was just saying its quick for a TDI.
He has been pissing me off for a while I just done like his attitude thats all.

Jakg- he may have an degree but my dad is 43 and has been working on cars since he first owned one, yes he may do it in his spare time but he used to be a Diesel fitter for one of his mates demolition company (Gregory Demolition) and he has no qualifications or degrees in being a fitter but still got the job and actually knew more then the actual fitter with a degree who also worked on the machines(Diggers) so he must know a bit well a lot more then a bit about engines and cars, yes I know a digger and a car is two seperate things but he still knows a lot about cars.
Question - If you still learning about cars, how would you know how much your dad know's even if you dont know much yourself?

BTW, even with 140hp, it wont be quick even in TDI's standards. At the end of the day, its a super duper heavy car.
Hey everything is relative, maybe he hasn't been in a car quite fast to be able to make a comparison, so it may be fast for his standards but not for ours

funnily enough, i was gonna say the same thing. Heck, he thought a 1.4 corsa was good on acceleration!

What's wrong with that? I thought a 1.6 Turbo Diesel Golf was quick, simply because neither of my parents drive fast ever, and the only times i've been in other people's cars who do drive fast i've either been to young to remember (when I got a ride in a TVR), the cars been too slow (you can thrash the crap out of a Rover 200 as much as you like but it's still dead slow) or the driver wasn't going that fast considering the road (100MPH on a motorway).

I thought my bike (0-60 in well... never...! 55-ish top speed!) was crazily fast when I first rode it - within 2-3 weeks it felt slow...
Thats what i was trying to say, he must think its quick because a. he has'nt been in a car when its going fast or b. he just has'nt been in a fast car, hence the reason he thought a corsa was fast, and hence the reason he thought a 140hp A4 is fast.

I ment it is faster on acceleration then a normal 1.4 SRI, not any other car.
I have been in a lot faster cars then that, including a Morgan, they are very quick on acceleration but saying that they are light. I will proberly have a ride in a Ferrari 348 soon if I can get my step mums dad to take me out in it.
The A4 is no where near the fastest car I have been in but the chip has made a great improvement to the car, it is only a 1.9 TDI . For the car it is it's pretty quick, obviously not as fast as other cars on the road just for a A4 TDI.
Quote from sam93 : TDI

Correct me If i'm wrong, but does the one with the red 'I' have more BHP than the 'standard', and then the red 'D' and 'I' is the uber l33t Super-BHP!!111 model?
Quote from sam93 :I ment it is faster on acceleration then a normal 1.4 SRI, not any other car.

But how can it be faster when its only had minor engine improvements, and its been made heavyier by the huge subwoofer's it apparently has, and the alloy wheels, and the bodykit etc.

I think you will find its actually the same, if not slower.
You didn't originally say "goes like hell compared to standard 1.4 TDI", you implied it goes like hell in general. Two very different things. And why the red I? And since when are there degrees in fitting?

Quote from tristancliffe : And why the red I? ?

I feel as if I'm being ignored here. It has something to do with power, and I'm pretty sure that the Red D and I is the most (or more (?)) powerful model.
Quote from Jakg :Essex (full of sluts)

The latter part is redundant, Sluts is the name of a female from Essex.

You might as well have just said you live close to Sluts and everyone would have known you mean you're near Essex.
just the TDI has 90BHP the Red 'I' has 110BHP and I think on the Audi's I think the D and the I are red and that means its 140BHP, can't remember if this is for the VW or the Audi as they both share the same engine codes, so basically same engines.

It doesnt have subwoofers it has just one subwoofer, when I get hold of it, to finish it off it will have more subs (Bigger sound system) and the C20LET engine what is a 2litre 200bhp (204BHP to be exact) Turbocharged engine what will obviously make it quicker, this is all for show remember nothing else, I don't class myself as a boy racer as the way I think of a boy racer is just cheap tac stuck onto their cars with no thought or a quality job put in and I also think they are ones who think they are in a ferrari when in fact they are in a nova and most likely to be chavs so the clothers they are wearing proberly cost more then the car.

Well I think we should get back onto topic.

Well sorry for the way I put it, I not what I mean in my head but I don't put it down well (Don't explain things very well) But I did mean to a standard A4 TDI.

Also where did you get 1.4 from, they didn't make a 1.4 A4, the 1.4 is my Corsa
Bad idea - to try and prove Tristan wrong... he's usually right when it comes to driving techniques, and car engineering...
Quote from squidhead :Bad idea - to try and prove Tristan wrong... he's usually right when it comes to driving techniques, and car engineering...

I am not trying to prove him wrong at all, he will know more then me because of my age compared to my age I respect that, I just don't generally like him like that because of the way he comes across, basically don't like his attitude.
And that's fine. I don't want everyone to like me, and I don't expect it. And I won't hold it against you. But I'm me, so if you feel like disagreeing then disagree, and if you feel like ignoring my posts then put me on your ignore list. Then everyone is happy.

That is the arrogance of a man with a lot of knowledge. Age doesn't mean a lot, he is just bloody smart when it comes to brum brum cars.
Call me weird but to me Ferrari Testarossa is still one of the coolest cars ever.
If I could have any car in the world, that's the one I would pick.
