I was just on the UF-BR server, and the track was BL1R. No one else was around, so I just decided to drive around and wait for someone to come. The strangest thing happened though. I would get random yellow flags (I mean I was flying down the straight and it would give me a yellow). Also none of my laps were counted, which meant I have a worse yellow flag ratio as I was getting lots of flags and none of the laps were counted. The yellow flags I was receiving though couldn't even be justified as they were all pointless and were given while I was at full speed. Is this a glitch and if so is it just me.
Well I am just saying that after every yellow flag I would check $stats (I have it hot keyed) and the same after every lap. The yellow flags would go up and the laps wouldn't. Also I had 31% yellow flags going in to the server, and I came out with 33%.
Okay, you made me second-guess myself and my coding so I went in to check. When I entered the server, I had 3650 laps and 827 yellow flags. I ran two races and came out. I still have 3650 laps and 827 yellow flags on my account. The yellows on BL1R, on the UF-BR, are definitely NOT being counted.
thats absolut not true my yellow flags are counted too!!!
We play yesterday on ufr baby bl rev. And after 4 races it count more as 40 flags!!!
From hard work of 11% to badly 13% flagratio and the admins dont wont delete this flags. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarhh
Why you dont believe us. It count. We see it cleary on 2 account here on lan.
Both stats are ruined during 4 races.
If this will not delete, i will left the ctra why play so fair when there comes a big bad bug they destroy all. Bah 40 flags i make in 40 races. not in 4 look at my stats!
I have removed BL1R from the track rotation. I'll discuss the situation with the UF BabyR admins. I have raced several times on BL1R, but I haven't seen any flags counted in the database in the process, at all. The code excludes all races on BL1R from the lap and yellow flag count, so I'm at a loss to explain how the flags are making their way into the database when you guys race, but not when I do. The only thing I can do is block that track until the path is fixed by the devs.
46 flags in 4 races is not a problem with BL1R, and I am stating that as an absolute fact. Even if the yellows were being counted, which according to the X-System they are not, it would NOT count that number of yellows out of clean racing. Fact.
Nonsense. The X-System doesn't calculate flags that way at all. Never has, never will.
We are a team and we play on lan yesterday. (xenix74, yami74, rafnix)
We make a race but it dont count any points. (2 drivers)
I think its accept only racepoint if there are more people.
So we think its more to drive for free.
We drive mostly clean!
Belive it or not SamH it count for us. I love the Ctra but i have no fun anymore. What shut i do if this happens again with any other bug anywhere.
I can report it but whats than. You dont believe.
I look everytime on the ctra stats about my flagratio, nearly after every race.
I know what i have before and after. I am no kid that try to cheat or anythink i am 34 Years old and have no time to correkt this mistake with driving 200 labs nicely again. In a community who drive with a average of 27%. Thats soooo hard. I fight over 2 weeks for only 1% lesser Yellow flags. And than this.
You dont believe us because you cant reproduce this bug.
What can i do on my site?
Leave Ctra? after 2700 laps and a ratio of 13 % (11% its true )?
Ps: Durring the first race i ask about this yellow flags in the gamechat. Nobody knows. After the first race i look to the stats, and it was OK.NO yellow Flags. Then we make 3 race again (xenix74 & yami74 /why not it dont count we think) and after this . Our Flagratio go up.
So sorry SamH. We just wanna play clean.
edit: Must drive 437 laps without any flag to correkt this.
This evening Chris, Dru and I did some testing. The $stats page in the server was counting yellows but the yellows were not being written to the CTRA system/website. However, IF you were still in the server when the track changed away from BL1R, the yellows were then being written.. so cancelling out the yellows on BL1R was not working *for some people*. Clearly, this included you guys. I sincerely apologise. We have fixed the code this evening and re-tested fully, with all the scenarios that could arise. I can confirm that this bug is finally resolved.
I can't calculate back all the yellows that were allocated in error. I wish I could, but it isn't possible. All I have to offer are apologies
I can only rig the CTRA system to skirt around the inherent bug in BL1R until Scawen/Eric fix the path issue. The core problem is a bug in LFS.
[edit] BL1R is back in the rotation now for UF-BR only, for now.. sorry.. should finish my posts before clicking the "plague forum users with my opinion" button.
Not to worry, sod's law.. it was a bit obscure, and we nearly missed it again today - manic MyCTRA refreshing, you can picture the scene . Chris posed the suspicion about the track change and it turned out to be spot on.
oh Sam, whilst on the subject of bugs. I've been trying to upload a new licence image but it no workee. It appears to upload but always shows my old image.
Stupid question, but is the avatar image maybe always uploaded with the same name (like the userid or something)? Then clearing the browser cache could help...
lolz, daftly - when I tried it last it was broken, when I tried it last night I got caught out because I didnt persevere ! Well at least now you know why X-System was so unstable to begin with
OK, Thank you for looking in to the problem. At least it stops other people getting this problem. Shame for me and the other guys though.
So let me get this straight, it doesn't count the flags and laps if you are in a race, but it does if you are just driving around the track on your own. (Weird)
No, on BL1R it doesn't count flags at all now. It *was* counting them during races, but not storing them in the database while the track was still BL1R. It was writing them to the database for the drivers who were still in the server when the track changed away from BL1R. I really need to bump the bug report again, to make sure Scawen's aware of it.
Becky, I made the assumption, reading above, that the avatar thing is working. It is, innit?
