Revisiting system message block
Quote from Suggested Improvements Log by Hyperactive : + Variable message blocker, set it to block all messages/all but lfsw messages/all but join messages etc.

I think this suggestion needs to be revisited. With all the servers running LFSLapper and other insim applications, there is constant insim spam in the chat everywhere you go anymore. When you are on a server full of good people, people who say sorry and let you have your position back, give you a smiley or a "good pass" on a pass, etc, it is nice to see the chat. But it is destroyed with all the "Good split" LFSLapper spam with every single racer that crosses every split.

It is annoying to see constant chat spam handed out by LFSLapper as well as the system messages every time someone joins. On a busy server, the the left side of the screen can possibly be completely filled continously with LFSLapper spam as people pass through the split lines and join the track from spectating. We need the option to be able to disable system chat from racer chat.

This suggestion also needs to be expanded a bit for the insim of today. More and more servers are running new insim apps, and more and more servers have crap displayed all over your screen. It completely defeats trying to race in shift-F mode to get rid of all the display stuff. The insim stuff stays on the screen no matter what.

Shift-F (I guess this would be seperate from the message stuff) needs to also eliminate the on screen insim displays. I was on a server last night that had the server name displayed beside my mirror and server lap records listed covering the bottom left of my screen up to the top of the door sill. Extremely distracting as I race with shift-F and want nothing displayed. We are currently forced to have the insim display distracting us though.

The top suggestion is an old one, yes. I just wanted to bring it back up because of the increase in LFSLapper chat spam that I see lately. It is becoming an important suggestion in my opinion.
Strongly agree. But should/could the admins of these servers just turn off the spam msg system ?
I'm sure if enough people voiced an opinion to the team hosting/admining they would adjudicate a descision ?

Maybe thats wishful thinking , but so is this part of the forum
Do messages come in seperate packets than other LFS stuff? If so maybe someone could write an app to kill all incoming LFS text messages

I agree that the constant onscreen spam these days is just too much
I was also thinking about this, but having a split chat - I occasionally play Guild Wars where there are several chat streams, one for the local area, one for the team you are currently grouped with, one for trading and so on. You can toggle any or all of them off at any time with a single click. In LFS we could have a chat stream for racers (just for the key-mapped smilies and "good pass" stuff), another for the spectators (to comment on the race and ask for setups for the next one), and maybe a third for system/insim messages.
