What do you do when it starts to itch
Just a question

What do you do when some part of your body starts to get itchy. i tend to do my best to ignore it but when it happens i lose concentration and end up crashing
Why is this in the General LFS discussion?

If you suffer from itching or a rash, go see a skin doctor.

Read it again. He is talking about getting a random itch while playing LFS. Whenever it happens to me, I scratch it a little while on a straight and it goes away.

+1 if its at my foot well if its the right foot i wait till a straight, accelerate with my left foot and scratch and switch again :P

But one day I was practicing for LXO and got an allergy and was itching EVERYWERE on my body (first time i get an allergic reaction) and well I had to not race and drop out cuz of the crazy itchiness that started 10 mins before the race. That sucked. (went to see doc n got medication :P)

a) Nothing he wrote indicated that he's itching was random
b) Nothing indicated that it happened while playing LFS (except the subforum, which isn't a valid argument because people tend to 'mispost' their posts )
c) LFS's physics engine AFAIK does not simulate itching.

LOL. Now I'm wondering how real racecar drivers do when they get a lil itchy somewere =/

 I gave you a serious answer: If you suffer of continuos itching, go see a doctor.

If it isn't a constant pain in the ass you might try:

Quote from medicinenet.com :

Cold applications: Because cold and itch travel along the same nerve fibers, the use of cold can "jam the circuits" and deaden itch. Methods of applying cold include
  • cool water, either by running tap water over the affected area or placing a cold clean washcloth on the skin;
  • cool showers; and
  • ice packs, either the commercially available type or ice cubes in a plastic bag.
Hot water (in the shower, for instance) feels good temporarily, but it often leaves you feeling itchier later. Therefore, the use of hot water is not recommended.

Anti-itch creams and lotions: Look for over-the-counter (OTC) remedies with these ingredients:
  • camphor,
  • menthol,
  • phenol,
  • pramoxine,
  • diphenhydramine, and
  • benzocaine (or one of the other "caine" anesthetics).
You can apply these products over and over -- every few minutes if needed. These preparations help numb the nerve endings and stop you from a frenzy of scratching, which leaves the skin raw, sore, and even itchier.

Haha!

I find that when i get an itch while racing, whether in real or in LFS, i wait for a stretch of road that is straight or when im not in a battle and try and get it then. Also, when racing in real, your concentrating alot more than in LFS and your adrenaline is pumping, so you tend not to think about the itch while racing.
Reminds me of another thing : a bug on the screen, especially very small ones.

Ah, that's where I'm going wrong.

I've always been using the trusty old bounce and stick method.
That is, if you throw them at the wall, and they neither bounce nor stick, they are good to wear.
