Some decent people do, in fact, still exist.
Earlier on this evening I lost my cell phone - a $300 Sony Ericsson W580i - on the bus on the way home from work. After freakin out for a bit and a frantic search for the phone about my house, I called my service provider to have it locked so I won't receive any charges if someone decided to have some fun with it.

This was a few hours ago, but just a few minutes ago I got a call from the bus driver; he's got my phone and I'm going to go meet him at the local terminal in an hour.

Thank you, Tom from GO Transit, for returning my phone!

Nice! If just everyone could be that honest.
Heh my bro just bought a w580i :P

Yeh, well he previously forgot his cell in a taxi and the taxi driver came back to give it back once we called the cell. I was surprised he even answered the phone and came back. All he charged was his distance from were he was to our place again. Nice guy.

It was a w810i (same phone as I have now) and now he lost it like 4 days ago and got a w580i (amazing phone).
wow.. I don't think that anyone here in the capital region of Canada would be so generous like that, by returning such a decent phone. I heard many accounts of people just keeping a cell phone, instead of returning it to its owner.

May I remind you I live in the same city as you. :P And the phone at the time was indeed worth 300$ aswell. (the one my bro forgot in a taxi) Yes, here in Ottawa and the taxi driver came back and gave it back.

It's all about luck. You'll find generous or honest people who won't be able to steal and those who just don't give a crap and will resell the cell or keep it.

Glad you got your phone back btw
He could ask for sex in return, be careful
In the meentime he's got 2 hours of call time logged to Jamaica.
Ah see now he's taken the bait. We'll never hear from MAGGOT again.

Slightly O/T but does anyone else steal a hot girls purse/bag while trying to pull on a night out, then phone up the next morning saying that you have found the purse, do you want to come to mine to get it or shall I bring it over, in th hope of pulling

(shamelessly nicked the idea from Scrubs)

Might just be me on this one.:hide:

... only to find out that she's left her cellphone in the purse and that's the only number you have.

Hopefully you'll find the home number......while going through her phone hoping to finds some "naughty naughty pics" all the time growing an unhealthy attachment to a girl whose name you don't yet know, but you can memorise all her mates names and numbers.......

,,,, I'm seeing a shrink on Monday
If only people were that honest here really.

I've lost 2 phones and never got it back. It's been 2 months now.

First one, I lost in an arcade in a mall. Checked under the seats but found nothing, then had the staff look for it to no avail.

Second I lost in public transport. Realized it immediately after I left the tricycle but then I wasn't able to get the number of the tricycle so he got away with the phone. I think someone picked it up because I rang the phone when I reached home.

If the Philippines wasn't a third world country....

I am in my emo mode right now

Lucky for me my service provider blocks long distance and roaming charges if the phone is reported stolen. Got it back last night, got it unblocked, and all is well.

heh, i lost my wallet on the train recently.. $500 + AUD, drivers licence, school passes that give me travel free to school and back.. ID.. and alot of cute nice stuff from my girl who would write me something or draw something funny. id keep it all in my wallet...membership cards too..

do you think i got it back? personally, money is low priority in life, atleast would be nice to get the letters back..

Ouch, tough luck there fella

I recently lost a library book on the train, or somewhere. I don't really know
yeah you lucky,

i wasent, my w580i screen broke when i hit those thingy keeping you from going without paying in a metro station ( cant remember the name )

the way the cellphone is made
the whol upper part of the top of the cellphone pushes on the screen if there is pressure on it, be caution it really doesnt take much to break this one ( i barely noticed the hit )

That's why it is always in my pocket with the screen against my leg and the back facing outwards. Helps protect it a little from such hits.

BTW, those things are called 'Turnstiles.'
well once i lost my wallet on a public bus, then a nice looking girl was infront of my door and she brought back my wallet I gave her 10€ for that

Only to find out later that "she" is actually a he.

I laughed quite a lot at that.

If he does come back after being groomed he'll require a Curious George to show one where the bad man touched him.
I lost some remote control car (yes cuz im 10) in the train. I left the bag under my seat. But sadly the freaking mbta's policy is "We are not responsible for any lost items." Im just gonna sya this. WARNING STRONG LANGUAGE!
Go here for what i was gonna say: http://forum.city-driving.co.uk/attachment.php?aid=436

In that case, I'd rather pay cash, too.
My dad found a phone in austia in a lift up the mountain.
So the owner called but lived 50km away from the hotel where we were staying, my dad said they could pick it up tomorrow evening, but they didn't show up and they locked the phone.
So then we took it to Holland and send it by mail to them.
You just would not believe the stuff people leave on buses...
In Oxford the rule is.."If it reaches the driver, then you WILL get it back"..mostly because sometimes not-very-honest people find it before the driver (
I personally have returned:

An iMAC (well..I wouldn't want that anyway!)
2 iPhones
Lots of normal cellphones.
Loads of iPods/MP3 players,
Wallets (again, lots!)
A pushchair *(baby buggy for you lot across the pond!)
A 26" widescreen tft TV
A HP Laserjet printer
at least a dozen laptop PC's
A blue 34C bra... (DONT ASK!!!!!!!!,,,but I would have loved to be the guy in Lost Property who had to return it to the owner ...would try the CINDERELLA METHOD...got to prove it fits )
4 or 5 SUITCASES (How the heck do people going to an airport forget they have a bloody suitcase?? 0.0)

and..
About a million umbrellas
