Hi Peeps ! I'm having this graphic problem here~ Graphic is pretty lag and FPS goes around 15-20~

I believe it has got to do with my graphic card ~ Btw, i'm running on my laptop

Dell Inspiron 6000
Processor : Intel Pentium 4 1.6ghz
RAM : 1gb
Graphic Card : mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910GML Express Family chipset

Any way out ?? Smile

Heres you way out. NEVER BUY DELLS!
oh man ! but since i'm stuck with my dell~ any practical way to increase the performance ?

Thing is ! It had the same amount of memory as my desktop which has 128mb Radeon 9200SE but different performance ! LOL
Graphics memory means nothing really, unless you are using large textures. LFS doesn't have large textures. LFS's textures use only maybe 75 mb (using a lot of high res textures from the community)....

The difference is a dedicated graphics card with a good chip compared to an Intel chip (junk) on the motherboard of the laptop.

A friend of mine ran perfectly playable frame rates (not great, just playable) on a 1.6 GHz laptop just fine. The difference was, his graphics chip was an nVidia chip and not Intel.

Nothing you can do with that....

What kind of a random -dunno shit about comps- post is that? Don't buy a dell? Own a dell before you state something like that..
However, I would do a performance check while you are in-game there buddy, see what tops off. I reckon it's the CPU... also, do a full reg clean and a virus scan.. that can work wonders.. ^^ Good luck..

You have a rubbish CPU and a rubbish onboard gfx card - I'm guessing it's a laptop so your stuffed.

I have used 3 Dell PCs as equipment controller and 3 Dell PCs and 2 Dell laptops in my office at work.....

I will confirm his, "Heres you way out. NEVER BUY DELLS! "
My parent's use an old Dell with a 2.4GHz Pentium 4. It works perfectly fine, I don't know why everyone hates Dells so much. It's perfect for what they use it for, which is browsing the internet and checking e-mail. But, as with any onboard graphics, Dell or otherwise, it sucks with games.
qhats wrong with running 15-20 fps? i run that and drift all day long =] haha , im trying to get a better comp but right now moneys tight , have you considered turning some things off, i have my sky turned off , smoke at lowest setting and some other stuff turned off
well, as you may have seen on my other thread in here, i had serious trouble, i was getting about 10 fps if there were few cars aroundm but if it was busy, or i was on the grid, or first corner where everyone bunches up, i was down to 1 or 2 fps, and even complete freezing of display at times, i changed my graphics card and am now running a not brilliant, but highly playable 30-50 fps depending how busy the host is at the time. Just an afterthought, but i noticed some people have worked and probably spend serious money to get 300+fps, but whats the point, as i always thought that the human eye cannot detect any more than about 50 to 60 frames per second, so why have an extra 240+fps, costing loads to do and making a pointless difference that you cant even see??????

The human eye can see many thousand FPS, but most monitors can only show 60FPS. My PC may be capable of getting 300FPS with AA / AF etc but in a full grid it'll still only do about 40...
you can tell i didnt listen at school!Shrug But i think my point may still be a valid one, because if a moniter can only show 60fps then whats the point of a graphics card, and game running faster as the moniter wont let you see the diference! On a slightly off topic, but very much moniter related still...... The pc i have now, packard bell Imedia 5094 with matching moniter caused me some health related trouble when i first got it.I always use my pc in the evenings as i am working the rest of the time. Any longer than 2 hours on it, and i would wake up about 2 hours after going to bed with the most blindingly excrusiating head ache you can imagine, It really stung and felt like something had been stabbed through my right eye. It was the exact same pain in the same place every time, this happenad 9 or 10 times and was wrecking my sleeping. I looked on google and found something about moniters. Apparently the 60hz refresh rate for most regular moniters can sometimes cause headaches. I changed mine to 85hz in the display settings and i can now spend hours and hours on my pc and i have not had a headache since!Thumbs up

...or you could just buy a TFT.

17" Iiyama TFT of eBay, less than £50 delivered.
yeah but im fussy like that, as everything is matching, the silver and bluey green colours, it wont be colour coded anymore lol. However, my friend has a 22inch pc moniter which he bought when he used to work at the sony centre, and he says i can have it for free!!! I havent seen it yet but bigger will hopefully be more realistic and just better in general. All i want to get now is a better steering wheel with a gear stick and clutch pedal if they make one, as the paddles are a bit too F1 for my liking!
