Quote from ATC Quicksilver :Great job as always JJ, do you use the latest photoshop?

CS2, I don't see the difference with CS3 and it only comes in the suite version, which most of the stuff I don't need anyway.
I'm still using 7, I should really switch to at least CS2 because it has a few features which would be useful for me, but I am stuck in my ways.
Great stuff dude, looks more like a flood than standing water, but it is meant to be London so thats quite likely!

FINAL ENTRY

i can only say HOLY MOLY O.O
Very, very nice pics, all of you. This is going to be one tough competition. Sucks that I won't join you this time.
Just a question, with a program like GIMP, how do you make it look like its raining?
you **** stop winning all competitions

seriously great work

This round is very tight really, definitely a few step above the previous rounds, everyone really did try something unique. I almost certainly would vote for Mistikal unless something else shows up, his entry has everything needed to win, and maybe more.

But then I think this is my best so far as well, so I won't like to hand over the win haha. I have 20 or so layers just for the wet tarmac alone, I was a bit overwhelmed when I started working on it this morning, but fortunately it came out as I have expected and probably even better, since it's my first rain edit.
Thanks for the kind words JJ, and yea, mine was the same, came out to 42 layers in total with all the effects and reflections.

Should see some of my photochops tho, some of those go well into the hundreds regarding layers :o

As you said unless something better comes up i will be voting for you also

I just tried to keep the aquaplaning theme and not just a rain scene.

edit: posted an original aswell.
Quote from Da Hoe :i didnt mean your pic of course. there was a post (with a pic) after yours, but looks like it's deleted now.

i know which post you meant, i saw it.
@JJ72
Did you use some kind of "guide to make tarmac look wet" tutorial :P ? If so, could you be so kind and post a link to it,please!
@Mistikal
Very nice edit, just two things :o both about the front light - I think it's reflection from the water should look like the light's reflection on JJ's picture ( vertically distorted ). And the second thing, as the car is so close to the wall, shouldn't there be some kind of lighter spot on the wall ( where the frontlight shines ). Other than that, brilliantly done, both of you. I wish I had the skills you guys have :O those pictures make me want to timejump into the future to finaly see the rain in LFS :P

Well the water is standing so its meant to be mirror like, the only time you would get the haze is if it was at a distance.
I spent enough time on it and didn't want to do anything more to it, and if you look at the barrier the light is shining.

:wow:, all entered pictures so far are great. It's a tough choice between JJ and Mistikal for me.
We should have a bkg_ pack with all the winners
I'm gonna do my entry tommorrow... hopefully I won't fail as much as I did in previous rounds, because rain edits are something that I'm remotely good at
Wow!!!! The entries are crazy!!!
I like all the picture JJ makes but he must have 2 screens or 3 because they all seem to be widescreens and they look like crap in a 1024x768. But this rain one here looks perfect as a background. I liked his crash one and wanted to use it as a background but I couldn't because it would've been crunched up and I know why it was wide so everyone could seen everything that was going on in the picture.
Hey everyone, Hey JJ Love all the pics you create, Just a question....I currently run CS2 and am wondering, How the Heck everyone makes the rain, and how it looks so realistic, Is it just a texture or does it take time, Pls id really appreaciate it, How Can i do this...
