for my phone i use nav4all
it doesnt come with maps, it gets it via gprs, or wifi when avaible, is fast, free, easy to use, and very accurate, comes with voice, it can remember ur parking spot etc, better then tomtom imo, except for the map thingy, but hey u dont hear me complaining , works with pda, symbian and wm
We have a TomTom something or other, and its pretty darn good

We've never had less than a 3-bar signal either - and you can download some really great voices for it (apparently John Clees and Darth Vader [free!] are gd)

Much better than road signs - we wanted to go to an old house earlier today - the signs sent us about 10 miles into Derby and all the way back out again when the house was about 2 miles away from where we had started
I think I had to pay for John Cleese. He's getting a bit samey now after a few months use. I see you can now get "the real" Mr T which might be a laugh. There's a free Dalek voice as well but it sounds like it was done with a Yorkshire accent which was surprising as I thought the Daleks came from much farther away than that.

You don't want a Mr T voice, you could never go to the airport lol, I'm not going on no dam plane
Quote from GFresh :Well some people, like me (an electrician), travel to different places every day for work, so sat navs are extremly handy.
However, i suspect you already know that your post was slightly ignorant

How was my stating that I don't need one because I know where work is ignorant?

Sheesh, I thought we "Americans" were the ones who didn't get sarcasm.

I don't need one because I already know where work is = Ha ha, I'm making a little funny of myself because I don't go anywhere... thus the not needing of a navigation system.

Maybe Americans should not attempt sarcasm ?

Maybe people from the UK shouldn't attempt racism?

Maybe you should learn what "racism" is?

Hmmmm. definitely missing the sarcasm implant aren't we?
Nah, he's missing an entire brain. Just read some of his posts.

At least I don't dress up in gay superhero outfits.
If it's good enough for Christopher Reeve and Ardal O'Hanlan then it's good enough for me. But that still leaves you without much of a brain.

Is that supposed to make me feel bad about myself, or something? Because it's not working.
i'm a bit perplexed where the aggression is coming from tbh.
I've got a Tomtom One, and its a fantastic little thing. Always keep a road map in the car anyway, but its rarely led me wrong, and sometimes found quicker ways around than the signposted routes I'm used to. And its so simple to use even my mother can set it up For the £100 or whatever they cost these days, frankly they're a bargain. My only complaint is sometimes the maps aren't 100% up to date, I noticed this driving through Cornwall recently, it had a lot of the speed limits out of date.

Quote from sam93 :I know I have a lot to learn, but I am no chav trust me, I dress nothing like a chav, or act like one.
I am also glad I live in Devon, nice place to live even though Plymouth is crap really.

The next time I see a Corsa burried in a hedge or the side of something much bigger than it, I'll think of you, and be glad I rarely have to go to Plymouth.
