explorer.exe problem
Okay,i installed the windows Vista transformation kit, shut down pc,now if i turn it back on the explorer.exe doesent work,so i have no bar,and no desktop icons :S
and i cant get it to run,if i type explorer.exe into run, please help
Vista = Fail.

Format would be an option.
Well, where is explorer .exe located?,then it would work i think
I had a similiar problem once - I wanted to change my desktop theme ( windows xp ) and to do so I had to use some kind of patcher for explorer exe - but after restarting the PC my explorer exe was gone. Luckily I was able to get my explorer exe back by running that same application again, which had a uninstall or repair option or something like that So, try running that transformation kit again, maybe it'll help. If not, then try getting an explorer.exe from somwhere ( don't really think that will work, but anyway)
Edit: C:\Windows\explorer.exe :P
k,ty,and explorer.exe wasnt there
[edit]the patch file says that windows cannot acces closeapp.exe
c:/windows ?

Oops, too slow.

XP that pretends to be Vista = Epic Fail!
A bit like a ricer who thinks a "R" badge will make his 1.4i Civic go faster!

Its not vista, its just a bunch of proggys that make XP _LOOK_ like Vista....
(which a total waste of system resources if ever I saw one!)
if you dont have anything that helps to say then just dont post,it doesent help

I have to agree and I have to plead guilty to have doing it in the past. I never really noticed a difference in performance though, but I get what you're saying.

Vista fails if you haven't got a decent system to run it with, i'm sure others could tell you that.
can anyone give me a explorer.exe then?,nothing else to do then play lfs then:P
Explorer exe has to be somewhere in your PC, maybe with a renamed extension. Search for it, type to the search box explorer.* and it should find you all the files, if you see something like explorer.exe_bak or explorer.bak that should be what you are looking for. Btw sending you an explorer exe won't work - the sender has to have that version of windows that you are using.
@beefy - afaik you can run some apps without explorer running.

I was just pulling his leg.
I tried to make my xp look like vista. It epic failed. So i upgraded my pc and bought vista. Vista=good Xp wanna be vista=bad
Ty MataGyula,u were the only real help here,it turned out that it was renamed to explorer.svk,so one more time Thank You!,and no thanks to others
Well, it seems that you'll need an external program if you want to search for something and explorer isn't running :P If you have Total commander installed, then use it's search function. If you don't then I don't know :-x and about that update from MS - no idea either.

Edit : So it is working now ? If so, thats great ;D
You can start lfs through the command prompt (run-cmd)
and then browse to your lfs folder and start lfs.exe
On a non-super computer, XP that looks like Vista != Fail...

I had it on my last computer, partly because I wasn't going to buy Vista again, and partly because it wasn't a fantastic system anyway. It patched XP, and it looked like Vista (there wasn't any major differences), but it had XP performance.

On my new system though, it's going to be the real Vista, not the patched XP crap
