Profile Image Upload Doesn't Work Correctly
I first noticed this bug months ago when I tried to upload my profile picture to the CTRA site. Basically, it doesn't line up correctly at all. A normal tall rectangle gets cut off like this guy's:

http://www.raceauthority.com/stats/?licence=DaxZero

I had to edit mine by adding white space to one side in order for it to look correct.

As an aside, my name doesn't even show up correctly. My license name is Lateralus and I listed my real name as "E Brown". I often only use the first letter of my first name among casual acquaintances, so that's what I use on CTRA. In the "Driver Of The Moment" thing however, that letter gets entirely cut off, so I'm listed as just "Brown".

I'll have a look at the licence image upload routine. That particular routine is written in PHP, and I'm not too fond of that. Should be able to figure it out though. The image you upload is resampled and stored as a 180x240px image.

For the Driver Of The Moment, the script prefers to refer to the person by their first name. However, it looks complete crap when the person has stored their first name as "E".. eg: "E has driven 260 laps and..". It looks pants. So, when someone has only stored an initial for their first name, it refers to them by their last name instead. It's less personal, but then someone who is storing "E" as their first name isn't, normally anyway, bothered by less personal references to them by the X-System.

Why not keep them aspect? I wouldn't mind tinkering with the script for ya mate . I love PHP myself :P

The problem with PHP is code maintenance - i.e. I can't maintain it. The script did originally resample the image according to the aspect ratio of the image being uploaded, but it wasn't entirely reliable, and a lot of licence images finished up offset and strange. When we added the team banner option to the site, I re-hashed the code to do a simple 468x60 resample of whatever was uploaded and it's worked better and more reliably by far.
Well, if there is anything that you need editing or anything like that and is written in PHP I really wouldn't mind giving a helping hand buddy.

Just created an uploader script for LTC infact, that does aspect ratio resampling, seems to be working okay so far!
