Apparently the Army was handing out free copies not so long ago, but it was in Ft Lewis, which i'm guessing is in the USA ??, right next door ? lol ?

If you do get the game, make sure you get the expansion packs too (Island Thunder and Desert Siege) then head on over to http://ghostrecon.net/files/pa ... action=category&id=14 for extra goodies, (should keep you occupied for a while)

One tip, when/if you get the Demo, go to the graphics options, for some reason they're on the lowest setting's as default, and the game looks really, really crap (although the full game is better) and put everything to maximum, still not fantastic, but at least you can see who your blowing to bits

++ the IGN link has link to a demo which i think lets you go online, so you can run around like a complete nutter shooting all your guys on the same team

If You want quick gameplay, and LOADS ( L O A D S ! ! ! ) of fun, then Soldat ! /free 2D shooter /
If You want quick gameplay , but in 3D , than CoD 1, CoD UO, CoD 2 , or QUAKE 3 ARENA ( damn i love this game !!!) or team arena
If You want little tactics, then i think SWAT 4 will be good 4 U .
Good ol' CS 1.5 with PODBot is great too BTW

if you want a cheap fun online game, black hawk down is great, its dated now though, but good fun online, its got a good community behind it! takes a while to get used to the lag tho, only problem, but once you are used to it you dont notice it at all!

counter strike - if you play with a group of friends (i'm in a clan for it) then its a great game, just kick the whining 10 year olds from the server if they get annoying (which they often do)

Battlefield 2 - lost its appeal for me, good game when playing with friends, but by yourself its not really much fun!

The original Ghost Recon was great couple of years ago. Is it still active, I mean on multiplayer side? I used to play it in a clan before Island Thunder addon (I got fired from the clan so I didn't care to buy it ). It had certain aspects that made it even more tactical than Operation Flashpoint, even that it didn't have vehicles and maps were much smaller.

Ghost Recon 3 looks like a stupid arcade crap. Not surprising really, UBI Soft already ****ed up Rainbow Six series.

This is true for 99% of the servers out there. Just find the right ones! www.dweebfire.com (216.240.155.171:27015), if there's actually ppl in it, It'll be the best server out there for what your looking for. Alot of us started playing World of Warcraft, though, so server population kinda dropped.

Completely given up on BF2. Great when it came out but EA/Dice just can't get their patches right and your are continually paying for more content . . .

The load times suck great grapes and it's the only game that got me banging my head against a wall when you can't get of spawn because some Sky Jockey is camping the Non capture flag with is jet . . . .

It has now left my hard drive. Now I just have CS:S/DoD for my shooting needs, Eve Online for my MmPoRPG needs and LFS for my Racing needs.

Waiting for ET:Quake Wars to come out. need to do a bit of Machine upgrading first though me thinks. And I might get Civ IV on budget which can't be too far away.

It's amazing, wait six months and some games have halved in price. Or if you're like me and have the patience of a saint, wait 12 months and their all out on budget . . . .
