Slight problem with the track, the long straights all have slow turns leading onto them, so the cars are always too far apart to get a decent slipstream and get close enough to overtake. So all the overtaking we are seeing in GP2 are wild block passes from miles back, most of them resulting in contact.

Well, maybe even that's better then to have million fast corners and then you can't pass cos of downforce loose. (Example, Magny-cours)
We have something like this in Canada too and we've seen some passes on that straight after herpin. And if I may say in Istambul too, that chicane after T8, before last straight isn't too fast ether.

And btw. I don't like ether that it's not actually made of streets of city and that it has run off areas and walls away from apex..., but all in all it's nice track when you don't take this factors.

I hope it will be good race
Few facts:

- No roads were builts on purpose for the track, EXCEPT for the bridge, so the track IS a street circuit. IMO they could have gone past the Ciudad de las artes, which is an absolutely beautiful area and its not very far away.

- The surroundings of the track are the America's Cup headquarters and the beach (very cool), freighter docking areas and some undeveloped areas (awful).

- All drivers I've heard talking say they love the track. Could someone post links to negative comments? Im very curious about that.

- Track is much better for drivers than for spectators.

well i read somewhere that Kubica and someone else werent scared to criticize (spelling?) the track and claimed they expected more. If i can find the article (or was it ITV qualifying commenatators cant remember) i'll post it here.
Urgh, what an ugly track. :sour:

Quote from diablo21 :...something epic has happened. HE LAUGHED!!!!

Scary. No wonder he barely ever laughs (in public).
this is getting annoying, why does Kimi and Massa keep on saying "For Sure"
i mean....... ok say it once in the conversation, but not like 5 times........
Any stream links available this time?
DC got DC-ed~ lol
Sutil screaming at the team: "I need to get past him!!!!! Aaaaahhhhh!!!"

What a tit.
Ace Nakajima And yeah, all the drivers i've heard of say the track is nice. And they didn't have to do any modifications to it as they do on some tracks.
Nakajima is the man
Allen is such a berk its cringe worthy. "5 G's of braking force on the drivers head and chest, pushing them back into the seat"
Quote from DaveWS :Allen is such a berk its cringe worthy. "5 G's of braking force on the drivers head and chest, pushing them back into the seat"

whats wrong with that? hes explaining, you do know there are people watching F1 who pobably have no clue what G-Forces do.... better than staying silence and looking like you know nothing.....
I think he means that braking force would push you forward, away from your seat. But heavy braking would push you down into your seat too, either way James is a dickweed, and Martin did a brilliant grid walk.

ahh i see
and yeah good grid walk
Team Radio to Kovalainen: Heikki your car has a problem, slow down a bit...but not too much.

didnt hear that on ITV :/

Italian thing i think, got it from the team. E.g. Valentino Rossi
Quote from DevilDare :didnt hear that on ITV :/

Might be because it was a joke, although considering how close Hamilton came out behind Massa then they probably should have done something like that if they wanted to win.

DOH!!!

:slap: /face palm myself
Did anybody else notice how much glocks rear wing was moving around then at high speeds?
I was too busy sleeping.
Boooring race so far. No overtaking, no crashes.

At least now I have to start accepting the fact that Kimi's probably not going to win the title. Go Massa, then, I guess. As long as Hamilton doesn't win it.
