When they realise their wall thickness is too much and their tube diameter is too little, and the whole thing weighs as much as most other finished cars then they'll 'tweak' their design a bit.
And they really REALLY need to get someone even vaguely competent at welding - look at them. They just shout FAILURE POINT.
And they haven't triangulated from above (plan view), so the chassis will do funny things. And the engine area isn't triangulated at all, so they'll all sorts of problems...
As far as I can tell, most people of FSAE teams are the people who like cars the most in the engineering faculty, and very rarely any of the talented engineers. They like of idea of the final product, but haven't got the first idea how to get there.
