It's because all of the good looking women come from Mexico and Cuba, and the places south. And the fact that many people in the USA don't care about people from Mexico or Cuba and incorrectly label anyone who is Latino as a Mexican and or an "illegal immigrant".

Oddly I don't feel that bad. It just doesn't seem like a smart idea to try and build a city below sea level, in between a lake and gulf, and just past the river delta.
