That's an acceleration hole. That makes the car faster.

yes...the wind passing through that hole actually pulls the car forward, making it go faster
^ So for the ideal slipstream you have to be slightly to the left of the car in front, both getting almost full slipstream AND wind that pulls you forward.

Now we just need a front wing on the UFR to justify high nose setups and it will be faster than a FO8
Wow thank you guys!
Appreciate al the tips!
Now if I only knew how to reproduce this hole....

maybe your UFR is simply old...

No problem: Take a hammer, bang light onto graphics card (for best results on GPU) for a little hole, or bang hard to make the UFR convertible...
Just be careful. Bang it too hard and you might go blind.
That story isn't true! You won't go blind!

You'll get a tennis ellbow

/me carefully moves his mouse around

*mouse=pointing device for a computer*
Strange thing
Am I the only one that's pretty creeped out right now from this thread? =/
Bang light into a card??? WTF??? Is that possible????????????

Of course. How do you think they make a card Transform and Lighting (T&L) compatible. You use bending machines to enable advanced transforming on the GFX board and put small holes in it for better light processing.

with a hammer? I'm gonna throw a bomb through that hole
The rollcages on the cars in LFS are not actually there for any other purpouse except for the racing look - every car reacts the same to damage, rollcage or no rollcage.
